If you have lost loads, how did it go?

I have lost 6 stone and probably have another 4 to lose. I’m soooo fat round the middle though! From under my boobs I stick out so far all the way down to my very low belly hang. My top half has lost a fair bit more than the middle. Will it go next or am I forever stuck with this huge pregnant looking tummy? I just wonder if anyone has lost it eventually, or if it just stays around! I always imagined being this size would be amazing but actually I’m struggling with the weird order of weight loss rather than an even all over drop!!

I don’t know the answer but I was talking with my DH about this earlier today. We think it might be genetic? I’m in the same boat. Losing weight in my upper body and bum, but not my middle. 🤨

Hey!
yes belly last for me too! I have found once getting closer to ideal weight. Am now bmi 27 that is does appear more even loss. But at first at bmi 33 it was off bum (always been small) and other areas before the middle which is where I put on weight. I have found that with menopause my boobs have grown and now do not lose weight from them. My back side has gone down but not really the relative cup size. My boobs used to be first to go. No longer!! Still a DD! Went from 38D (was too tight and had four boob effect) to 34DD. I know it’s smaller in measurements but not in proportions or finding main stream bras! Thank goodness for M&S!! I used to be a lovely B/C cup before menopause. So I would say genetic with a bit of hormones chucked in from my experience. But you will defo see more even loss as you continue. You have done amazingly well and should be so proud of yourself!! Go you ❤️

The reason being…
studies show that taking MJ reduces visceral fat first which lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and other known health issues.
After that, there will be a reduction in subcutaneous fat, which is the fat stored just beneath the skin.

While both types of fat can be reduced, studies suggest that visceral fat may be preferentially targeted initially as the body prioritizes reducing this more harmful type of fat. As weight loss progresses then the subcutaneous fat will also decrease.

Congratulations on losing 6 stone, that’s amazing.

There are quite a few of us on the long-running >5 stone and >10 stone threads.

I’ve lost 9 stone 7lb and I’m close to goal. I’m a broken record on this subject but if you have been pregnant then I strongly recommend seeing a specialist physio to be assessed for an unhealed diastasis recti, or separation of your abdominal muscles. It’s very common and very widely undiagnosed. It can be healed with specialist exercises (mine has reduced by 3cm) but you need to be careful as traditional ab exercises will make it worse.

well done on the 6 stone! Amazing work! Your stomach will go eventually but I have to say that it’s only now for me, on the cusp of looking a bit thin and with a bmi of 21.4, that my stomach is mainly skin and not fat!

It went on my hands, face and feet first followed by boobs😫. I think I lost from my sides and hips before my stomach so it looked worse if anything as my ‘width’ shrank.

I didn’t really notice my bum going and was quite shocked to see it had simply vanished one day!!

I am down 8 stone 9 and it was really only the last stone and half that seems to have reduced my belly.

I am really hoping that the next stone and a half targets my belly as my bum and hips have disappeared. Even at my heaviest my norks weren’t anything to write home about, so they are now back to droopy fried eggs.

I find that body shape plays a part in how people will lose weight, so how you put it on will indicate how you'll look when it comes off.
Apple shapes will have a larger stomach and it will only be 'flat' if they are at a lean body weight. Same with pears but the weight is at the thigh area.

Well done on the 6 stone it's an amazing achievement which you should be very proud of.
However the excess 4 stone is still sitting on your body and you won't have an 'ideal' shape just yet. If you decide to lose this weight you should see it start to come off your stomach area.
Is it going to be perfect? No probably not, but it will look different and you may be happy with that.

This is incredible, mad how clever a simple injection is! I had no idea but happy to learn it’s scientific.

I’ve had six children and lost 7 stone from my heaviest, my bmi is 19. I’ve gained muscle. The thing that made the most difference has been daily yoga, I’m actually strong, toned, and slim now…stomach pretty flat and no bingo wings! Taut legs.
I found there was definitely a middle period in my weight loss where I over-analysed the weight loss if you know what I mean…but I’ve found from losing so much that actually it does all go pretty evenly in the end.
You’re doing brilliantly.
