Mounjaro Newbie - app for tracking/calories

reluctantbrit · 24/07/2025 16:01

OK, I will do my first injection tomorrow, I hope to loose between 30-35kg, anything else is a bonus.

I did WeightWatchers decades ago and never counted calories, so I am really knew to this logic.

Can anyone recommend an app which tracks my jabs/symptoms and does calorie counting?

Not sure if there’s one that does both.

I don’t really count calories but Nutracheck seems very popular.

I use Shotsy for tracking jabs and Happy Scale for weight.

There are also tracking apps called Dose Diary and Tide Tracker.

Thanks, I thought so much but hoped I just miss things.

I don’t know of one that does both, but I use Nutracheck to track food and calories (great for also tracking protein!) and I use Shotsy for tracking my jabs and symptoms. Both apps track weight/results.

Team RH has a mounjaro specific plan, tracks calories that they set, weight, steps, water intake its fab £6.99 a month

SilenceInside · 24/07/2025 22:45

@BeHonestFawn That’s expensive when you consider that there are free apps, and ones that are a one off much cheaper price. And Mr RH is a deeply unpleasant misogynist, so there’s that. Oh and the way “Team RH” send out threatening emails when people cancel or ask to cancel. There’s at least one long running thread about those antics somewhere on here or the Weight Loss Chat board.

Singlemomofthree · 24/07/2025 22:58

Team rh. Way more than just a calorie counting app amazing support and I didn’t havent had a single side defect. I’ve lost 56lb on the team rh glp1 plan

Dysmorphia · 24/07/2025 23:03

I love nutracheck. Used my fitness pal for 10 years but switched to nutracheck because it's UK focused and it's just much easier to use imo. I also track my weight and body measurements in it. The week view, the nutrient tracking, the eating out section are excellent. Well worth the membership cost.

I use shotsy to track my jabs. Since I only have to use it once a week on jab day I've never bothered paying for the full version so can't speak to any of it's other features.

Agree. Never heard anything good about them from anyone.

I followed the FB page for a while and what a horrid person he is.

MrsAlexKarev · 25/07/2025 06:06

Like some others on here I use nutracheck for calories and Shotsy for tracking my jabs.
I would be extremely weary about joining team rh. It’s not a month by month contract, you have to sign up for a year & mr rh is a really horrible man.

Biggles27 · 25/07/2025 08:00

I’ve seen loads recommend using shotsy whist on mj

i track using Lose It as I find most foods are on the database

reluctantbrit · 25/07/2025 08:30

Thanks everyone. I downloaded Nutracheck and like it.

I've been on it for 9 months now for my diabetes. It has caused some weight loss as a side effect. I really wouldn't track side effects, the more you focus on them they worse they will be. Trust me. I don't count calories or track what I eat. You really don't need to. Just listen to your body, eat when you're hungry, stop when you are full and focus on healthy foods. You may find you have to make yourself eat as some days I completely forgot as just didn't think about food (unheard of for me!)

My biggest issue is comfort food, my weight gain is 75% stress/mental health related so logging what I eat is really important for me to re-learn better food choices.
So, away from cheesy pasta and back to vegetable stir-fries. I found logging what I eat was a big help, especially in the beginning, when I did WeightWatchers.

If you're tracking calories you're not going to keep it off after the injections. The point is to listen to your body. Eat only when hungry and stop when full. Mj enables you to do this. I've lost over 50kg in one year never denied myself anything.

spoonbillstretford · 25/07/2025 09:59

You can have cheesy pasta, just a smaller portion.
