Nearly at goal, try going up? Advice.

I'm 7-10lb off my goal and on 5mg. I lower my calorie intake every few lbs to ensure that I'm not overeating. I'm now supposed to be consuming 1325 calories and I'm finding it too low and I'm able to eat over that amount. I wouldn't say I'm craving food or eating "bad" things but I can eat through the feeling of fullness.

About 6 weeks ago, I tried going up to 6.5mg and I got diarrhoea for the first time and felt terribly dizzy and vulnerable so I reduced to 5mg again.

I'm considering trying to go up again for one pen before titrating down. I'm going on a 2 week cruise in 2 weeks time so really don't want to overeat and put weight on.

Anyone else been in a similar position? Does it sound like I need to go up?

I would say you may well do but obviously, the side effects may be an issue.

I was in a fairly similar situation with about 6lbs to go having been on 10mg for a long time and faffing about going up and down a few lbs for a few weeks. I did exactly what you’re contemplating and did a couple of weeks of 12.5 from my 10 pen.

Got me to goal with no side effects but bloody hell, the suppression was INSANE and really not for me!

Am now coming to the end of another 10mg pen and soon to try 7.5 on for size!

When you say you're supposed to eat 1325, what rate of weight loss is that supposed to produce?

If that's 2lb/week I'd personally just opt for a slower rate. If you lose 1lb/week you'll have an extra 500cal/day.

I have accepted a slower rate of weight loss now that I am getting closer to goal. The first stone and a half came off very quickly at 1.5lb-2lb/week, whereas the last half a stone has been around 1lb/week on average.

My BMI is 25.1 now and although I wouldn't mind losing a bit more, I feel like it will be easier to transition into maintenance if my rate of weight loss just continues to gradually slow.
