hi all, so been on 2.5 had my 4th shot on sunday and i have maintained this week, had some really good loses the other weeks, so disappointed. i have got my next pen and gone up to 5. i am hoping this is just a blip. been on a few groups on FB reading peoples advice to others. Question is it correct that 2.5 is to get the body used to the jab, and going up wards is when it really kicks in?

Weight loss does not correlate directly to dose. Many people stay on 2.5mg for several months, or even their whole treatment. Each person responds differently.

The thing that mostly determines your weight loss is your calorie deficit. Mounjaro helps support you to sustain a calorie deficit longer term. Focus on and celebrate the longer term trend, not the occasional maintain or even gain.

If you have remained in calorie deficit you might not have appeared to lose this week for lots of reasons (some in picture), or your body might just be adjusting to the previous weeks significant losses.

If you have been unable to keep to a calorie deficit you might consider increasing dose to help support you. I personally wouldn't consider moving up a dose until I struggled to keep to a calorie deficit - with some willpower thrown in - for a couple of weeks as appetite could be influenced by things like hormonal changes too.

Yes, the impact should ramp up if you go up a dose. But you need to start seeing a couple of weeks of weight maintenance after a few weeks of losses as a positive. Sometimes the body just needs time to recalibrate the new normal before you start losing again. And you could well be burning fat during maintenance weight as well, for example if you’re rebuilding glycogen reserves or adjusting water weight. Keep going with healthy eating, lots of protein and water, and a calorie deficit and the weight will start coming off again very soon
