Mounjaro: sore throat, runny nose, neck glands up

I’ve been in MJ now for 8 months - haven’t lost that much by the way - 23 lbs!

Anyway every couple of months I get the above symptoms. It lasts a day or so then goes away. I understand that it’s a minor allergic reaction to MJ. I’ve also had a few rashes during that time. And these symptoms, this reaction seems to make me tired as well. It’s weird because I don’t get many of the more usual gastric symptoms. I’m on 12.5 mg dose the last month.

Just wondered if others had these symptoms? Though temporary, they are very uncomfortable. They are much less often reported but there is some discussion of these eg on Reddit. It’s definitely not a cold by the way. It usually comes the day following an injection and goes away after a couple of days.

I wish I was one of those people who lost weight easily on MJ and no side effects. I don’t know if it’s really something I can maintain if these issues keep recurring ….

No I've gone the opposite way, was prediabetic for years but didn't know it and would constantly catch bugs, in 2022 I had 7 infections in 6 months. Since october 24 starting mounjaro I've not been ill once! It's been a miracle for me. Are you eating enough food and taking vitamins?

I didn’t know they were linked to MJ. I’ve had those same symptoms, briefly, a few times since starting last July. This last couple of months it seems to have stopped, but I’ve had recurrent cold sores for 6 weeks after not having any for years, so I wonder if there may be a connection (idle curiousity really, not a dealbreaker). BUT, I haven’t had a chest infection or a cold in 12 months (very unusual for me). I’ve been in 15mg for 3 months.

I’ve lost slowly too OP. 36lb in a year, but I’ve got no loose skin which I am very happy about
