How to dispose of/recycle the wool packaging?

I was on MJ for a year and kept the wool packaging each time as it seemed too good quality to bin it but I have no idea what to actually do with it and now have quite a lot! We don’t have a compost heap (which I have seen suggested) and I have far too much to leave out for birds for nests. Do I just bin it?

My elderly cat used to use the wool in her beds, she absolutely adored it. Donate it to a cat shelter perhaps? It can be thrown away if spoiled.

My mum currently receives it all, for use in her felting classes (she teaches) but I think she uses it more to stuff things she makes as it's not ideal for felting. Perhaps a local crafty place could use it to stuff teddies or similar?

If it's Wool Cool branded, they accept it back for reuse. But only their own brand.

I use it to line plant pots, especially big ones with trees in them. Remove the plastic first. So if you won't use it, maybe offer it to someone with a lovely garden?

I put it out in the garden in early spring. Was lovely to watch blue tits coming and taking it for their nests

I've taught myself to do amigurumi crochet and use it as stuffing. If you have a craft / upcycling collective near you then they might be able to repurpose it.

Puffin packaging can be returned to them free if you have a minimum of 6 to return (think you need to find your own box to put them in).

Thank you! I need to fill some planters later today so @Rallentandasuggestion is perfect.

@WanderingWisteria Great! I think of it in winter as keeping the roots warm 😁
