What caused your sulphur burps?

I’m just finishing week one. I’m definitely hungrier than when I injected on Monday have lost 5/6lbs in 5ish days.

I am eating super clean. The classic mumsnet massive salad but only half each meal by the time I eat it!

About two years ago I was on semaglutide and got horrendous sulphur burps after eating 2/3 eggs in an omlette. It was so disgusting I was almost stick each time. I stopped immediately.

Now terrified of them so please tell me what you ate that caused them? (I know everyone is different, but still.)

Only had them once since end of March and that was on day 4 of a horrendous liquid 💩 sesh when I barely ate anything over the weekend.

Other than that I'm sulphur burp free and eat all kinds of stuff.

They are not caused by specific foods but by undigested food fermenting in your stomach.

Slowed gastric emptying (food moving slowly through your system) is one of the main ways these medications work so if you aren’t careful about not eating too much or not keeping your system ‘flowing’ properly you may well get the burps.

I eat pretty much everything and have not had one episode in the year I’ve been taking MJ.

Ok! Good to know.

flowing well - do you mean pooing? Any tips on keeping that going?

I do indeed!! I take psyllium husk tablets if things start to slow. I also take magnesium 3in 1 every night which includes magnesium citrate which is the one to keep things moving. I eat a fair amount of beans 😁 and fruit and generally keep an eye on my fibre intake more now than I do protein!

Since October I’ve had them once, for a couple of hours. I had rice and a beef oxo cube. Not sure why I mixed those two together…

I’ve had 3 sulphur burps, 2 one morning when I woke up and one on a different morning. To be honest the sulphury taste lasted as long as the burp and didn’t linger - it didn’t feel as horrific as some people have reported thank goodness.
Try and stay as hydrated as you can. I’ve never taken anything for constipation as I’ve basically suffered from irregular bowel movement for the last 20 years plus so it’s not as a result of MJ for me.
Dont think I can put my sulphur burps down to a specific food.

Very specific for me. Deep fried cassava - one bite! And potato gratin with grilled cheese on top. Each time I just ate a little bit to be polite and regretted it.

Now 6 months in I seem to be ok with a bit of most foods, but until recently I had to avoid anything at all greasy.

I have never had sulphur burps. I have done normal burps sometimes.

I am pretty much eating clean, homemade meals. I eat spicy food. I avoid greasy fatty foods. I have hosted a family BBQ tonight and I bought the low fat burgers and had a chicken hotdog sausage (butchers style). I hardly ever eat processed foods
