I’ve given it ten weeks but weirdly I’m hovering around the same weight during this time. I lost 9kgs in first ten weeks and have stayed the same since . I’m in Ireland so will be meeting dr tomorrw. He asked me to wait for the last four weeks to see if it would pick up again but it hasn’t . What do you advise?
and why has it just stopped working after ten weeks!!! It’s saxenda btw and thanks .

Can you up your dose? What dose are you on?

julyisacomin · 25/06/2025 11:29

I’m on the max.. 3.0 daily

Are you feeling the effects as in appetite suppression etc, assuming it's similar to Mounjaro?

Are you tracking calories and eating in a deficit of at least 500 cals a day?

julyisacomin · 25/06/2025 11:36

Absolutely no suppression whatsoever . I can eat plenty of fat and sugar without feeling unwell. I’m eating approx 1500 calories per day and doing my usual exercise

What sort of deficit is that based on your TDEE? If you are not losing weight then it's not a big enough deficit.

If the Saxenda is no longer helping you to keep to a calorie deficit then is there a possibility of moving to Wegovy or Mounjaro, if those are options where you are?

julyisacomin · 25/06/2025 11:44

Yes I have those options . I’m just perplexed about it all! Despite taking these injections each day I do not feel in any way satiated . I am hungry a lot of the time. Could there be a reason for this ???

If you do an internet search for Saxenda weight loss plateau there are articles which mention that it's common at around weeks 16 to 20.

I was on liraglutide for over a decade for diabetes. I lost 10kg over the first months, and then my weight stabilised at BMI 59.5 which was better than when I was having to take insulin and gaining 5kg/year.
Ask about being transferred to Mounjaro, it is much more effective for continued weight loss.

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/06/2025 14:57

What weight are you?

julyisacomin · 25/06/2025 23:00

I’m 83kg now. I was 92kg starting. I’m 5’6
