Metformin worked - will weight loss injections?

I'm thinking about weight loss injections.

When I was pregnant with my second I developed gestational diabetes and had to go onto Metformin. I ate healthily as well but also had reduced hunger, and lost around 3 stone during the pregnancy.

Over the last 2.5 years I've slowly put it all back on, plus more. I'm gutted and a disappointed in myself. I have around 5 stone to lose I think. If Metformin worked "well" for me, does anyone know if that makes it more likely that weight loss injections will also help? Thank you

I'm no expert at all, but Metformin works in a different way to Mounjaro/Wegovy although having a similar overall effect. So I don't think there would be any obvious correlation between the two. Mounjaro is prescribed to T2 diabetics if their blood sugars are not well controlled by other medication including Metformin, so Mounjaro can work where Metformin has not.

Mounjaro/Wegovy works for the large majority of people, so there's no reason that it wouldn't work for you. Best way to find out is to give it a try.

I have PCOS insulin resistance and it works for me in regards to insulin sensitivity and how it’s broken down! No harm in giving it a try. I’m 1st 7lb down in 7 weeks x
