Why do suppliers let you/nudge you to reorder so soon?

I’ve noticed my suppliers always email 2 weeks after they approved my last order. Why? Doesn’t this mean people can abuse the jabs? Injecting more often or going up doses quicker than advised? I always order on pay day but get various emails beforehand nudging me to get my next order done

Perhaps they have stock they need to shift? Or order in what they need?

I just thought it stemmed from the summer 2023 shortages of what was then the daily injections. People will say that didn’t happen but yes it did.

Maybe trying to clamp down on people sourcing own needles to draw the medication out and do things outside the pens design.

Logistics especially in warm weather.

I know where I briefly brought from face2face from a chemist they were checking up on me as they said they had to order Wegovy in specially and did not endorse leaving getting the medication last minute.

I didn’t know they used to be daily.

Ive seen a lot of media attention re the “bonus dose” recently so maybe you’re right.

I feel panicked when I haven’t reordered when they remind me to. Even though I couldn’t afford to buy 2 pens in a 4-week period!

Mounjaro has never been daily. The PP is referring to a different medication, Saxenda (liraglutide), which is a daily injection and was available before Mounjaro was approved.

Pharmacies remind you after two weeks so that you order in time to get it before you run out of the previous pen, that’s all. They will always work on the assumption that you are using the pen as intended for 4 doses so getting your next pen at around week 3 isn’t a bad idea. I just ignore any emails like that and order when I’m ready to.

Honestly I think it's so you order from them instead of a different pharmacy. It's just marketing.

Because they are commercial businesses operating within a very competitive space and they know consumers switch supplier regularly, so they want to secure your repeat custom. In the nicest possible way, it’s not that deep Grin.

This.

I am ordering after 2 weeks anyway, in case of delivery hold ups. The stuff can sit quietly in my fridge until needed.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/06/2025 22:39

I was really surprised by the speed I could re ovfer mine. 3 weeks before I needed it.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 16/06/2025 00:42

In a year on MJ and 4 different pharmacies, I have never received even one email prompting me to reorder!!

It’s simply marketing and rather pushy!
