Hi, I have been on the 2.5mg Mounjaro for 4 weeks now, lost 12lb in total which i'm really happy with (11lb of that was within the first 1.5 weeks), only lost 1lb since then. But my food suppression has fully stopped and now im back to always being hungry, which is why ive not probably lost much since. So i am going to be moving up to 5mg from this week.

My first week on 2.5mg was awful, i felt dizzy a lot, spaced out, i was even violently sick with diarrhoea in the first few days. Also one lunch time I ate a burger and was really poorly after this (i know red meat isnt great anyway, learnt this after - typical). Other than that, I've not been too bad.

But I'm wanting to see if anyone else had a similar experience on it and how they got on moving up to 5mg. Was you ill moving up if you was ill for 2.5mg? Im a little anxious to take now....

Thanks in advance :)

I didn’t have the same symptoms but the first week I started on 2.5 I felt really nauseous, couldn’t eat, when I did I had incredibly painful reflux constantly and headaches and this lasted a good four days or so. With each dose I got a recurrence but a lesser one each time.

Like you, 2.5mg wasn’t cutting it in terms of positive effects so I’ve moved up to 5mg just over a week ago. The day after my first 5mg jab I felt a bit nauseous but certainly not anywhere near as bad as I did when I started 2.5mg and it cleared in under a day. I’ve taken my second dose this morning and have no side effects so far.

I’m guessing - and hoping - that means that the way I felt at the start was my body getting used to it and now it is, it’s adapting more easily.
There will, of course, be many others who have struggled with the move to 5mg but I thought I’d give you my perspective.

As an aside, I’m not getting huge suppression yet so if this week continues the same then I may have to ramp up another level. I guess I’m just not a super responder to it!

I started 5mg last week from 2.5mg, I was nervous about it, however I have been fine moving up. No difference in side effects from 2.5mg so far. However I did tolerated the 2.5 well. So that could have been part of it.

I had a bad week on week 2 of 2.5, just didn't want to eat, didn't think I'd ever want to eat again.

By week 4 of 2.5 I was hungry and 5mg was just boring. I'm on 10mg now and I've been absolutely fine since week 2.

I was worried about side effects so did a few weeks of 3.75mg

Thanks everyone! Started the 5mg last night and surprisingly not yet had any side effects, where as with 2.5, I was being sick later that evening! So not as bad as I thought!
