Mounjaro making me absolutely exhausted. Anyone else?

I’m on 7.5mg but, on reflection, Mounjaro has always made me feel this way. Usually when on a diet, my energy levels are through the roof. But these days, my evenings are a write-off. I’m ok at work, as that’s how I’ve conditioned myself to be! But I have never known tiredness like this in my life. I’m at the point where I’m questioning if it’s worth it.
Surely it can’t just be me?

I've quit due to this. My lowest point was curling up in a toilet cubicle floor at work and sleeping for two hours 😬 plus falling asleep at a yoga class and having to be woken up by the instructor. It's weird because at 2.5 and 5mg I was full of energy - 7.5 really screwed me over.

I've lost all the weight I needed to so hopefully can maintain without the MJ!

Maybe drop your dose?

Thanks for your reply! In a strange way, it’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only one … though obviously I wouldn’t wish it on anyone!
I’ve always been tired on it but this is a whole new level. Unfortunately, appetite suppression on 5mg was shockingly bad. At least with 7.5 I don’t feel as hungry!
I could easily sleep in the situations you described 😬

I’m on 4mg and still absolutely exhausted. I have got a lot going on though and don’t sleep enough so I suspect that is also contributing. I’ve got another 2 stone to go so will have to tough it out a bit longer as I really don’t want to lose the weight. I’m hoping when I drop down to maintain that I will feel less tired.

Dysmorphia · 11/06/2025 08:10

Yup, I'm exhausted. The first 12 weeks I had sooo much energy, it was amazing. Now I am just tired to my bones.

I'm eating plenty (500 cal deficit only) but I haven't even been able to exercise these past 2 weeks. I get tired just walking 1km around the park with my dog. Can hardly drag myself out of bed in the morning. It's horrible.

Azureshores · 11/06/2025 08:27

Yep me too! I’ve been on it since jan and felt tired throughout. Usually I’d be full of energy when losing weight as you say but I’ve hardly exercised at all - the only exercise I’ve done has been walking but even that has fallen by the wayside. I’m also very “meh” about everything- not really interested in anything. I’m at goal now and plan to titrate down and stay on a low dose, I just hope the tiredness/numbness subsides otherwise il probably have to come off completely- I can’t live like this long term.

My move to 7.5 mg has been awful. I can’t eat enough to give myself energy, plus I just feel exhausted the whole time. I have far more digestive side-effects than when I was on 5 mg. And I have almost complete food suppression. But yes, the tiredness has got worse and worse, I was travelling yesterday and I could feel myself getting exhausted. It wasn’t even that difficulty a journey.

I’m going back down to 5 mg when I get back from my Trip, I want to be able to actually eat food and do exercise and enjoy life

Minniliscious · 11/06/2025 18:53

I’m only on 2.5, my second dose and I feel like this. Is that normal? Also, my appetite hasn’t been as suppressed as the first week. I feel constantly hungry this week and the food noise is back. I’m so confused.

JessicaPeach · 11/06/2025 19:03

I've not been able to push through this to get to 5mg, 5mg has me unable to get off the sofa! I've been on 2.5 for a year and been slowly edging upwards, I've done 3 weeks of 0.5ml on a 5mg pen and I'm going to have to go back down for tonight's dose.

I do lose really well on 2.5 though, I've lost 5 stone so far, probably another 1.5 stone to go at the most.
