No proof of prescription

Does anyone know a provider who doesn’t need proof of prescription. Long story short: I can go 10-14 days between injections plus I accidentally signed up to a subscription so ended up with 2 pens in a month and didn’t need to order for a while. I’ve been on 5mg for a while but don’t want to increase dose. Problem is as I haven’t ordered for 12 weeks the providers I’ve tried say I have to go back to 2.5mg.

my last injection was 5mg a week ago.
i can’t be the only one in this position 🤔

I think they all need proof. You wont be able to say to leave it so long between injections because none of them will be able to support that. However, if you have proof of your orders from some weeks ago that show you must have had enough pens to last you until, you may find some accept that as evidence you are currently on 5mg. Otherwise, I think it’ll have to be back to 2.5mg - but maybe once a week as per the regular schedule which’ll mean you’re not really going down a dose as such, because they will be closer other than you have been used to.

With a 12 week gap, they'll all have to restart you at 2.5mg.

They can only follow the prescription guidelines with that length of break then you will only ever be able to get 2.5 mg. Why aren’t you following the prescribed dose?

I might have oversimplified this but if you've been taking 5mg once a fortnight isn't that the same as taking 2.5 weekly, so you'd be fine?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 05/06/2025 08:27

It was rather shortsighted of you not to keep ordering pens tbh. I know they’re an expense but being cut off is worse!

Are you still in the weight loss phase or maintaining? If maintenance, maybe try phoning somewhere like Oushk and be honest with what you have been doing and see what they say.

Alternatively, just go back to 2.5 weekly. As a previous poster said, it will be pretty much the same dose you’re taking now without the large peak you are getting every 10-14 days!!

Agree with @IReallyNeedThisToWork , buy a 2.5mg pen and go back to weekly injecting is probably your best bet, then manage your ordering/pens better going forward from there.

If you are going to change the standard ordering/dosing schedule you need to be careful and/or do it with the support of your provider, probably best sticking with one provider who can see your history. Some will allow up to 6 weeks between orders before questioning.
