Mounjaro - can I get a 7.5mg dose from a 20mg pen?

I’ve been on Mounjaro for nearly 3 months and have been lucky enough to have had no side effects. Last Sunday I increased to 10mg. On Monday I was really ill - vomited 6 times, slept through a lot of the day. Tuesday the vomiting thankfully stopped but I felt really weak and nauseous at the thought of food. I still feel a bit trembly and weak tho that’s probably because I haven’t eaten much this week. I don’t know whether it was Norovirus or similar, or a sudden onset of awful side effects. Tomorrow is dose day and I’m not convinced I want to do 10mg. Good old ChatGPT tells me I can’t get a 7.5mg dose from a 10mg pen but I’m sure I’ve heard people talk about number of clicks.

Can anyone advise if it’s possible?

Of course it’s possible, ChatGPT is chatting hallucinatory nonsense. You need to turn the pen for 45 clicks instead of the usual full 60 clicks as you’d do to turn it to the 1 position. 7.5mg is 75% of 10mg, so you need 75% of the 60 clicks which is 45 clicks.

When you ask ChatGPT about mounjaro it assumes you are talking about the American version you have to specify it’s UK. It told me yesterday I don’t need to prime 🙄

Thank you! I never got to grips with the number of clicks - 45 it is then!

I am am an avid ChatGPT user and it has it uses, but would say do not trust it for anything medical or serious that requires accuracy - it talks nonsense most of the time. Anything it tells you that you need to be accurate ask it to share a link where it got it's information from and it will regularly say it can't or correct itself.

@Flipper1234 when you do your 45 clicks watch where the 0 is each time you do 20 clicks - it will line up at the bottom of the window. I do 45 clicks with every pen and it is 2 full turns + 5 - makes it easy if you are going to do 45 clicks a few times (or alternatively mark the 45 click mark with a ballpoint the first time you do it so you can find it easily the next time).
