Which collagen brand are people taking?

I'm looking to add some collagen supplement into my life whilst on Mounjaro but not sure which to choose from. So many choices.
Can anyone share which one they are using? Thank you

A multi collagen powder is best as it has all the different types of collagen in. I use revive from amazon as its good value and has no sugar or any additives and I add it to my coffee on a morning.

im new to taking collagen at 43 years old (hope ive not left it too late!), but i read that marine collagen is the better option. Ive tried the Absolute Collagen but its pricey and takes rank sven in a coffee. I have ordered these, i think its ok from what ive read/researched, theres so many different versions!

Applied Nutrition Marine Collagen Powder - Hydrolysed Collagen Protein, Healthy Skin, Hair, Nails (Strawberry & Raspberry) (300g - 25 Servings) £22

As long as they are hydrolyzed, pick between marine or bovine (or buy both and switch between them each day) compare the grams of protein per serving and number of servings in a tub to work out cost per serving/gram and pick the one which is best value for money each time you buy.

I really don't think there is much to set them apart. The collagen supply chain is fairly consolidated with a limited number of manufacturers who process collagen at volume, especially hyrdrolyzed, many brands source their collagen from the same manufacturers and you pay for branding rather than significant product differences.

I've used Vital proteins and Hunter and Gatherer because they were on 3 for 2 etc type deals or significant reductions during black friday etc. When I finish those, if I buy again, then I'll get what ever is the best value at the time.

Will Powders (grass fed bovine). It’s Davinia Taylor’s brand, and she explains the difference between marine and bovine. They have some other great products.

DJSteves · 30/05/2025 16:25

I use Willpowders. My hairdresser commented on my new hair growth

IrisPallida · 30/05/2025 22:15

Vital Proteins because it is flavourless and odourless. If you have a Costco membership it is far cheaper there than anywhere else. Possibly even worth taking out a £15 online-only membership for.

I tried one made by Weider and it tasted simultaneously sweet and acid. Utterly disgusting, even in coffee.

HappyHedgehog247 · 30/05/2025 22:20

Have been taking Inspiriko for one month and pleased with the difference.

HappyHedgehog247 · 30/05/2025 22:21

Their premium marine one as think they have more than one

ThePoshUns · 30/05/2025 22:22

Nutrition geeks

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 31/05/2025 13:43

I use both marine and bovine as I’m not taking any chances! 😂

I take the Nutrition Geeks bovine which is very reasonably priced and Wild Nutrition marine. I have also used Ancient and Brave marine in the past.

DH bought me a tub of the Weider collagen peptides powder from Costco. I'm managing to work my way through it slowly, but I have to mix it with a juice shot with beetroot and ginger to mask the taste of the powder.

Thank you all for the recommendations. Will get on with googling and picking one to try.

I've bought some Hunter Gatherer collagen and tried it once in a cup of herbal tea. That was a bad idea! Smelt terrible and found it very difficult to drink. How are people masking the 'meaty' smell and taste? I was wondering about having it in Bovril or something?

Redlightbulb · 03/06/2025 13:28

I always thought collagen supplements were a scam & still do to some extent.
They are being pushed so much at the moment by influencers trying to flog you all sorts of supplements.

But I have no lived experience of them so maybe I have been suckered in but I ordered some Wellguard yesterday & will try for a few months before making my mind up.

Just wondering if you have tried Collagen yet and if you have seen any improvements?

MellowDreamer · 14/07/2025 23:45

Willpowders - put it into my morning coffee and can’t taste it 👍

GreenLeaf25 · 15/07/2025 00:21

Zooki extra strength. I really can feel and see the difference if I don’t take it - which is annoying as it’s bloody expensive!

ThePoshUns · 15/07/2025 07:21

I use nutrition geeks triple filtered bovine collagen. Started taking for my joints, that hasn’t really helped but my hair and nails won’t stop growing.

theaveragewife · 15/07/2025 07:29

Zooki here too, I have the extra strength sour cherry. It is like drinking a small sachet of very sweet goo but I think of it as a mid afternoon treat.

I dislike taking powders in drinks - are the collagen tablets just as good or should I just suck it up for the better good?

peppercornrent · 18/07/2025 23:25

I looked at collagen and then settled on gelatine - a couple of squares of jelly a day and my nails are amazing! Hair better too I think but it takes a lot longer to tell. It's not falling out as fast as it was.

Redlightbulb · 19/07/2025 11:46

@Justhere65
On my 2nd month of using the Wellguard powder.
I see no difference (not sure what to look for tbh. I guess an improvement in hair, skin & nails?!) but will try for a few more months yet.

AmythestBangle · 20/07/2025 08:05

I use Bulk collagen with Vit C. It has a vanilla flavour and I like the taste.
