How to lose weight if overweight but not obese?

I have been overweight for the last 4
years following a stressful period where I overate and wasn’t able to exercise . I’m back on a good eating plan although struggling to exercise as much as I did.
The pounds just aren’t shifting . I guess as I’ve hit peri menopause my metabolism has slowed. I feel very uncomfortable in myself and feel quite depressed about it.
No heath issues . Looked into MJ but I need to be obese in terms of BMI.
Anyone else been here and got over the hurdle?

You can lose weight with no exercise, post menopause I was couch bound for a period but did manage to lose over 4 stone. I’m not saying it’s easy, but if you are tackling your diet then you are in the right mindset.
Work out your TDEE and reduce the maintenance calories by 20% to get a weight loss calories target. Weigh and log everything accurately on My Fitness Pal or a similar app. It WILL start coming off, but it will take time.
You can do it!

I had a BMI of 28 (just) and back pain (unrelated to weight but they didn’t ask). Also had slightly higher cholesterol. Started Mounjaro last July and lost three stone. BMI is now 20. Came off it around 4 weeks ago and keeping an eye on weight but so far so good. Lots of providers will prescribe with other conditions (and lots don’t liaise with GP regardless).

Hi I have a lower starting BMI than 30, and I was prescribed MJ with Numan.

They ask a number of questions including a family history of raised blood pressure or cholesterol. I don’t actually have these conditions myself but they accepted me on the basis of a family history.

Maybe try them? Discount codes can be found on the thread or PM me and I can give you mine

Your metabolism hasn’t slowed. You’re not exercising as much as you did. Track what you’re eating. Aim for goal weight in lbs x 12 = daily calories. Get your exercise back in, increase your steps etc.

I started with Voy and then moved to Oushk

@TheMumEdit what is your BMI?

Also your height/weight?

Do you have any health conditions?

Ive started with Livewell weight loss. I was BMI 30 some days but only 28 on others owing to normal fluctuations in weight. However I have high blood pressure so my BMI “only” needs to be 25 for MJ.

There are other conditions where the BMI can be 25-30 and you qualify.
