MedExpress asking for new photo every month?

BunnyEaster · 24/05/2025 10:55

I'm trying to order my third pen. I'm about 4 stone above the top limit of my bmi therefore obese at 15stone and 5,4.

Medexpress are asking for a new photo every month which they are never happy with delaying all of my orders so far. I couldn't possibly have lost four stone in a month. Do they do this every month?

I need to phone up and pause my order now as dispite ordering in good time for half term, it's not even been approved yet.

Do all suppliers do this?

Just use someone else?

Med express have a reputation that’s worsening by the day.

PopThatBench · 24/05/2025 11:00

I order through ZavaMed for my Dad.
I can give you a 25% discount code if you wanted to try somewhere different?
He hasn’t had to upload any new photos but did have to reconfirm his medical information when changing doses.

SilenceInside · 24/05/2025 11:05

No most suppliers don’t do this. I’d try somewhere else, so many decent pharmacies are available. Check out https://monj.co.uk for a list. I would avoid Curate too at the moment as I’ve seen lots of posts about them not responding at all to customer contact and not delivering at all.

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 24/05/2025 11:11

I’ve been with MedExpress since December and have only ever sent in one set of pictures at the start.

Rose789 · 24/05/2025 11:14

Are you signing into your account before ordering? I’ve used med express since January and only sent in initial photos. It sounds like you may be applying as a new customer each time?

Definitely not unfortunately. I had a price match code on my account that came off so definitelylogged in. I wondered if it was because I was upping my dose but that the recommendation surely? I did t have I sain weight lose at 5mg ( 2lbs actually) and I'm three injections into this pen.

I ordered Weds, they asked for a photo Thursday. They asked for one in light sports gear today. However my last photo I sent for the 5mg was less than 30 days old. So in theory I have taken a photo today and I could use this again in three weeks for the 20mg pen.

I suspect they are delaying due to low stock?

@BunnyEaster I have always had very good service from Med Express up until this week. I normally order one day, get approved within a few hours and the pen arrives the next day. This week I ordered on Wednesday and up until yesterday (Friday) it was still not approved. I rang first thing Friday morning as soon as they opened and despite a message saying I would have an hour to wait to speak to someone (presumably hoping I would go away) the phone was answered as soon as the message finished. He told me they had had a shortage of 2.5, 5 and 7.5 earlier in the week but had stocks in again by Friday. On my account my order still hadn’t been approved, but he said he would escalate the order, and within 2 hours it was approved and in 4 hours dispatched, and I received the pen today. I don’t think it would have been approved and dispatched without my call. I also only did one set of photos right at the start in January. I’ve heard they ask for photos again at 6 months. This has made me a little wary now. Have you tried ringing? It did seem to help me.

Just use someone else. So many posts from unhappy ME customers that I really cannot understand why anybody uses them.

BunnyEaster · 24/05/2025 19:54

It's only second order with them and there was a delay with last pen, but I just assumed it was because I was new and ordering a 5mg pen.

I have emailed and messaged saying not to post now as I'm going on holiday on Monday so it will be sitting on my doorstep.

They are only open Mon-Fri so I can't phone until Monday morning.

I didn't realise they had a bad rep. It's a lot of money as I've paid and it's frozen the order now

Yes please, pm me but I might not be reordering for a few weeks

I’ve sent it ☺️

BunnyEaster · 25/05/2025 09:05

Thank you! I'm really tempted to cancel with med express but just remembered it's bank holiday on Monday so no chance of calling them. It will be a week since ordering until I can even talk to them.

There was no where asking for a photo on the order form.or for my id again. There's no message on the website asking to upload a photo either for the second time.

It's a good job I have doses left

I’m with shemed, have to do a weekly video call where you show the scales, they record the weight and confirm the medication and dosage.

BrownJenkins · 25/05/2025 18:17

I've been with MedExpress since starting Mounjaro last October.
Ordered my latest pen from them yesterday. Royal mail delivered it today.
The only photo I've been asked for was the one when I made my initial purchase at the start. I've been on 12.5mg for the last 4 months and never had any problems ordering or receiving from them.

BlunderMifflin · 25/05/2025 18:44

I’m with Numan and I only had to show them a front facing and side view photo at the beginning (February)
Their app has a few questions it asks you most days to keep you on track and they do monitor it as I’ve had emails from the clinician making sure I’m doing ok and offering support if I need it. They also have a health coach I can chat to whenever who is worth his weight in gold for nutrition and exercise advice.
This will sound spammy but I have a code for £100 off if anyone wants it.
i don’t think it’s right that MedExpress are asking for photos so frequently OP, it’s surely not necessary! And delaying your orders sounds a pain. You can adjust your delivery dates on Numan’s app and so far mine have always arrived the day after despatch.

Koazy · 25/05/2025 18:47

I’ve been with a few but ME are best for me. Only had to send photos once

Justme2023123 · 25/05/2025 18:55

When I was with Voy I had to send a photo every 4 weeks. I'm in maintenance now with Cloud and don't have to send them photos.

jay55 · 25/05/2025 19:00

I’ve only been asked for photos twice with med express one at the start and one maybe 4 months in.

That’s because of the research study they put you in.

My supplier asks for monthly photos but they normally approve and deliver within 48 hours.

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 25/05/2025 19:06

I’ve just chased medexpress my second pen again - I ordered Monday the 19th!

PickwickPaperFile · 25/05/2025 19:08

Who else does maintenance doses? Have been waiting 3 weeks for my dose which is most definitely not ‘in the post’ and every time have had appalling service and can never speak to anyone.
