Will providers let you maintain at a higher BMI?

I’m currently with MedExpress and looking to change providers to one that offers a maintenance programme. I’m not there yet but my goal weight would leave me at a BMI of around 26. I don’t particularly want to go lower as at my height and build (I’m super tall) I look best around this point. I have lipoedema too so my top half is already looking quite out of proportion with my lower half.

Anyway! Does anyone know if providers let you maintain when technically still overweight? I’d be worried they’d be looking for continued weight loss to a BMI under 25.

Thanks 🙂

Yes my target weight is 25. I'm with Livewell pharmacy and they're happy with my plans. It's case by case but they said they'll keep prescribing indefinitely and I can try to come off for up to 12 months and still be eligible at a lower BMI.

They only get a bit nervous if people want to be at BMI 19 because you're only a bit of food poisoning away from becoming underweight.

Do livewell do special maintenance prices? I'm with oushk at bmi 26.6 looking to see if there are others available and the prices

You could always call them and ask :)

@Mysticmaiden I asked because I'd be interested too and they said they'll consider it and give you 10% off in the interim. Think that makes them cheaper than oushk but I'm not sure what dose you're on.

Honestly I don't work for them. I just can't believe how responsive and helpful they are.

I'm on 12.5mg but have the 15mg coming tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation.
