Sharps bin disposal?

Has anyone managed to find a way to dispose of a full sharps bin? Chemists in my borough won’t touch it, the council website gets me to fill in a form for a collection but I never get any call to arrange it! Council website says otherwise it’s the prescribers responsibility but none of the online pharmacies I’ve used will do it!!!

im going to give up
and just put it in a rubbish bin at this point!

I had a blood test at the GPs this morning and took my compact 0.25L sharps bin with me and tentatively asked the receptionist if she knew where I could dispose of it as I couldn't find anywhere, and she said as it was small she would take it. They previously said no when I phoned. So that's me sorted!

Planning to put the pen needles in my new compact sharps bin with the inner cap and not the larger outer cap on so they take up less room and the bin lasts longer. Previous one lasted 10 months with outer caps on, I reckon next one will last 1-1.5 years with outer caps off so I can ask again during my annual check up next year.
