Oushk or Pharmulous for Maintenance?

TheNinthLock · 12/05/2025 08:22

My bmi is very close to hitting 30 and I am thinking of moving pharmacies whilst hovering around 30 and stick with said pharmacy for maintenance.

My (obsessive) reading has narrowed it down to those two.

Please could you share pros and cons of both to help me narrow it down?

Thank you!

I’m with Oushk and find them very helpful and responsive to all my queries, however they have grown massively since Christmas time and their FB support group has recently been shut down twice. They have a very loyal fan base (yes it is like a fan club).
I find they let you choose how to run your maintenance regarding dose etc I am working my way down, you can pre order and choose your delivery date and change dose if you want. You get 3 individualised codes to use that give you 15% off and free postage, they are happy as long as you don’t go below 19 BMI but if you are that low they monitor you more closely, I’m at BMI 22.5 and I send in photos every 3 months and then get 3 new codes.
Due to growth they have had some stock issues with higher doses and some delivery issues but they keep everyone informed and try to deal with issues quickly. Personally I’ve never had a delivery problem.
You do have to have a maintenance consultation to be accepted, it costs £5 and takes 10/15 mins and gets very booked up, currently booking for August, but you can join as a standard customer and order a pen by showing your prescription history/ current pen, then book your maintenance call for around a time you think you’ll hit maintenance, it’s up to you what BMI you want to maintain at, but ideally once in maintenance you stay within 4-8Lb of what you start maintaining on.
If you join as a new customer use WELCOME to get £30 of your first order. They don’t do code sharing or any of that stuff, just have a regular code all can use.
if you don’t want to keep taking meds you can pay £15 a month incase you want to go back on it and your BMI is lower than 30.
Everything is explained on their website, good luck with whomever you choose.

Oushk also charge for delivery if you want to use RoyalMail. Only with DPD are the delivery costs included and then you have to be available to give the driver a code.

Oushk allows you to place future dated orders and change the dates online. Pharmalous can change the dates for orders but you need to email after you've placed your order.

Oushk fans in the FB group are almost diehard level. Pharmalous is a much lower profile company.

Really depends what type you prefer.

Mmm, I am more of a low-key person. Am not on fb so i doubt the fb group would bother me. I like the idea of being able to choose my delivery date though - it is a struggle to fit it around work...
Thanks both :)

If you are not in maintenance with Oushk it’s £6.99 or £7.99 for delivery depending on service you choose.
In maintenance standard postage is free with DPD but you can email and change to Royal Mail for free.
They’ve have had some major DPD problems in the past and are currently trailing without a PIN but they could change it all again, think it depends where you live, how flexible you are, I live in an urban place and have people at home a lot so I’ve never had delivery issues, but it really depends on your personal circumstances.
I am on their FB group, the fan level is quite spectacular, I never post, but have found out lots of things from the group and find it very amusing and a bit crazy at times 🤣
I do think Hira who runs the company is a very impressive lady and is certainly making the most of a very profitable business situation.
Whomever you choose will probably work for you, it’s great that companies exist who offer maintenance for us.

I was with Oushk for a while but moved for a number of reasons.

I have been with Pharmulous since the end of last year and have a maintenance call booked for next week. They deliver quickly, are very responsive and reasonably priced.

I like Dr Mel, the medical director and that she is on MJ too so talks a lot of sense. I like that they don’t use affiliates. I like that there isn’t a fb group full of somewhat strange people. I like that Mel can run lives without questions about her make up/skincare/shampoo. I can request a specific delivery day when I order by emailing with my order number.

They just feel like a straightforward, reliable and ethical pharmacy and they work well for me.

I have emailed Pharmulous for some advice regarding when and how to move across.
I was leaning towards them in any case.
So thank you :)

Have a conversation with all of them and see what you think? I like Livewell too, just call all of them.

With Livewell you don't need to book, just give them a ring and a pharmacist answers the phone and you can have a chat. Livewell also let you order 2 weeks in advance and book a delivery day, and you can redirect in the royal mail app.

They also keep pens in stock for their regular customers so hopefully they won't run out if there's a shortage.

I've heard pharmulous are fantastic too. I haven't ordered with them yet because I already know they're a safe bet. I wasn't expecting much from Livewell but they were really fantastic with me. Really went above and beyond.

@Mumconnect do you work for that company?

HansHolbein · 12/05/2025 18:39

@Mumconnect do you work for that company?

No, I write code for a living in the public sector. I was just really impressed. I'm really against referral codes, affiliates etc and I would never do it. If I worked for a pharmacy I'd be writing code for them, not shilling on social media.

I ordered my 12.5 pen from them because so many places were sold out so I thought I'd give them a try. I wasn't expecting much but they were fantastic and went above and beyond. We need as many options as possible for maintenance so I'm just trying to get the word out about how fantastic they were.

@TheNinthLock
How did it go with Pharmulous?

I am in a similar position to you and having now dropped under BMI 30 would like to move to a supplier that supports maintenance so I can stay with them long term.

TheNinthLock · 15/06/2025 16:01

Hi,
I emailed them and had a lovely email back, telling me they support maintenance and that they are happy to accept me with a bmi of 21 or above.
I emailed the same question to Swift Doctor and they also said to come over anytime before my bmi drops below 21.
Swift Doctor also said they price match. Pharmulous does not.
Swift Doctor also said I can have a break from the meds for up to a year and they will re-prescribe should I need it.
I forgot to ask this question from Pharmulous.
Bmi currently 29 so have a long way before I need to make a decision.
Am currently pharmacy - hopping to chase some discounts before settling with a long-term maintenance friendly provider.

@TheNinthLock I've also been in touch recently with pharmolous about possible maintenance. My BMI is currently 36 so still a long way to go but I'm debating maintaining at around bmi 31. I had a really detailed email back so I'm pleased with that . I'm hoping to stay on MJ for life as the effect not just on weight loss has been amazing!

Slowrunning · 15/06/2025 19:38

@TheNinthLock
Thank you. That’s really useful.
