Olistat for weight loss advice please!

I have just got orlistat 60 mg for weight loss. Never used anything like this before so optimistic and apprehensive. I am currently 13 stone 9 and want to lose a stone in 8 weeks for a wedding. Do you think it’s doable with a calorie deficit also? Any tips and advice would be great or success stories!

Thanks 🥰

I can't speak for Orlistat but I do know it blocks fat absorption, which means it all comes out in your waste. Did you look up the reviews? I've heard many stories of oily fatty leaking substance from the rectum, which sounds horrific. Try to avoid fat in food to minimise this.

Did you not want to try mounjaro? It's amazing as it makes you feel fuller and reduces inflammation and will most likely get you the fast loss you are looking for.

A friend of mine took it and swears never again. I think people lose weight on it because if you eat anything even vaguely fatty you get orange oil leaking out of your arse. My friend said it smelt disgusting too!

I wish you well with it, but I tried it when it first came out and after about a fortnight I had to race home from work because I was just leaking orange oil from my rectum and had to stop taking it and call in sick for a few days until it stopped. Awful stuff.

A stone in 8 weeks does not sound unreasonable even without medication, depending on what your recent “weight-loss journey” has been.

I used it and had no change in weight whatsoever. If you eat anything remotely fatty you get the orange leakage. I wore a sanitary pad as I was worried about leakage at work. It also leaves an ‘oil slick’ on top of the water when you go to the toilet which takes a few flushes to get rid of, again not perfect for when you are using toilets at work.
I wouldn’t use it again.

I used it for a week or so, horrible side effects which just don’t seem healthy. It won’t do anything to curb your appetite but it might terrify you into eating very little!

I used orlistat for a couple of years. It did precisely nothing. I never had any fat leakage or oil coming out which I was glad about but also no weight loss.

I'm on mounjaro now and it's great.

I lost weight in it. Only had one bad series effect when I was naughty and ate pizza, I expected it tho. I heard even avocado and salmon do that but didn’t to me. Was very effective with little issues but you have to eat well too
