What is considered high cholesterol by pharmacies

I am overweight (BMI is over 27) and I have have high cholesterol. I am piling on the weight at the moment and cannot stop myself. It’s hideous. Have decided to go for Mounjaro

I have submitted my details to Medex and now waiting for them to ask for evidence of my high cholesterol.

My test (done through private medical insurance for work) shows it is 5.6. NHS considers anything over 5 as “too high”. However, the private medical report also says I have a good balance between the different types of cholesterol.

Is going to be good enough for medex or should I prepare myself that this isn’t going to work out?

I got prescribed through Medexpress with bmi <30 and high cholesterol >7, I don’t recall them asking any questions.

Not seen a claim MJ deals with cholesterol issues.

Loss of weight generally did so much good in a health MoT though. BMI sub 25 is what the test looks for. My BP was really good, my blood test showed blood sugar and type 2 diabetes risk excellent.

As I understand the pharmacy don't go into detail like cholesterol when deciding on MJ prescription.

I have had saxenda prescribed recently with a bmi of 27 and cholesterol was 5.6. I just had to show this from the GP. They just wanted the total cholesterol. As it is, mine is elevated because of being on Isotretinoin for acne, and I'd been on saxenda for a long time whilst also on the Isotretinoin. I'd been on a low dose so each time had to order as a new patient, and I knew I'd have a fight on my hands when my bmi got to 27. As soon as I gave them the cholesterol result they approved it.

I got told my non-HDL cholesterol was 3.2 and I should aim for under 2.5
