Don't get me wrong I'm loosing but I'm in a deficit of about 7,000-8,500 calories over the course of a week and loosing around 1-1.5lb a week.

I'm on week 2 of my 2nd 5mg pen

I thought it would be more with that kinda deficit

Do you need to recalculate your deficit? The calculators give an average, they don't take into account our specifics of activity, muscle mass, metabolism and any metabolic conditions unfortunately. My muscle mass is 47% which is actually higher than most women. It was 50% when I started mounjaro in October. Having more muscle means more calories burned. I also don't include any exercise/walking etc and my deficit is 1200. I usually lose consistently 1lb a week, often I eat less than 1200 but I have insulin resistance. Though in this month I've lost 5.5lbs so slightly higher than average. I've been having protein shakes daily.

I have recalculated it yes since i started, I work with kids so am fairly active weekdays regularly get 10k - 16k steps during my day naturally and I swim 4/5 days a week and do 2 strength training sessions

Current weight is 86.1kg

The boditrax body scan says I'm 54.1% muscle, BMR is 1513 and TDEE 2345 on boditrax
I'm currently allowed 1610 calories on nutracheck

Maybe you have some insulin resistance too? I think I have and it slows things down is my sense 😡 . I eat less than other people around me but am bigger.

Also it can take a while - weeks or months even - for MJ to get fully in the system and the body get into a relaxed weight loss state - at least for some.

So it can be a bit of a tortoise and hair scenario. You just have to hang in there. Not fret or obsess too much, more relax and trust the process.

Hmm I would eat more if I were you.

I sound similar(ish) to you.

Currently 83.05kg, not an active job but do 3x 1 hour swims, 2x body pump classes and around 10-14 hours of brisk walking a week, with sometimes longer hikes/frequent walki g holidays. I aim for 1480 calories on Nutracheck and lose about 1kg a week (or slightly over) pretty consistently

Obese · 28/04/2025 15:40

I eat about 14000 calories a week and burn about 22000 calories a week and I'm losing 2 - 2.5lbs a week. I track on fitbit and it seems to be accurate. I'm 203lbs.

HotAndHappi · 28/04/2025 16:01

First - you need to ignore the calories burnt bit and ignore any exercise calories. Just focus on the calories in and get that down below 1200 and you will start to see results.

Any calories you burn from exercise is brilliant but DO NOT factor it in to your calculations.

Also - round UP calories, especially if eating out. So if a McDonald's hash brown is 145calories, round it up to about 180 at least (companies always round down and you need to counter-balance that!)

My calories are between 500 (too low) and 1200 daily, and I run and swim daily and walk the dog daily. I've so far lost 25% of my body weight since Christmas. That's maybe a bit too fast, but essentially, the lower the calories you go, the faster the weight loss. Best is probably to aim for just the right amount of calories in to see you loose 1 to 2 pounds a week and you might find that best by trial and error....

mysparkleismissing · 28/04/2025 16:20

For clarity I don't eating of my exercise calories I'm nowhere near my calorie allowance

Yes my losses are pretty much bang in the middle of the macros calculator I follow which means I lose about 1.5lb a week. It's a perfect pace.

I eat 1750 calories a day. This includes an assumption of exercise which I do regularly. Absolutely do not subscribe to eating as little as possible. Eat a good amount of calories, exercise and your body will thank you.
