Advice regarding diarrhoea for a week and next injection

Hi All,
I'm after advice. I'm on week 3 (well officially 4 as I should have had injection yesterday) and have had pretty extreme diarrhoea for a week. I've been treating with immodium and managing to get on with life, but I've not been at work. I'm dreading next week.
I was supposed to take the 4th injection yesterday. I couldn't face making the situation worse. I was hoping the diarrhoea would reduce by leaving it a day (I managed to not take immodium yesterday). But I've woken in pain and it's back again.

I've read to keep going. But I feel conflicted. I was thinking to halve the dose to 1.25mg. the appetite suppression has been ridiculous as it is. For a few days last week I ate pretty much nothing as couldn't as was so bloated.

So frustrated. The first 2 weeks were fine!

I've lost 10lbs so far. I have a lot to lose so don't want to stop. But I'm a teacher. I can't run out of a lesson if I need to go!

Sounds rough and I agree delaying the injection and/or reducing the dose is sensible especially for returning to work.

Have you tried asking your local pharmacy if there is anything more effective than Imodium you can try?

Thank you for your reply 🙏

Today has been horrendous. I've slept most of it too and really shivery cold. Both of which are also symptoms? I'm just so confused as the first 2 weeks were fine!

How long until the drug is out of my system? Day 8 now after last injection and I still have no appetite and side effects not getting better. I'm really gutted.

The amount in your system builds each week that you do an injection, so for you the levels in your system were at their highest a couple of days after your 3rd injection. You can use a dose plotting app (Shotsy, DoseDiary) or website (GLP1 plotter) to see an estimate of what level of medication is in your system now and when it will drop back down. Either to nothing or back down to the levels that you were ok with in the first two weeks.

It sounds like you are very sensitive to mounjaro. My advice would be to not inject again until the side effects have stopped, and to contact your supplier about them.

If you want to continue, perhaps you need to drastically reduce your dose, so if you are on 2.5 go down to 1.25 until you can tolerate it.

you have my sympathy, it’s sounds like you are having a horrible time

Thank you all. That graph is very helpful. But also very scary! I'm hoping once it drops closer to 1mg it will all stop.

I felt a bit better yesterday so didn't take any imodium. But that's come back to bite me today. I feel wrung out. I've got to get in the car to get my DC in a minute and it's an hour journey 🫣.

I haven't eaten today. Is that the right thing? Not that I fancy anything. Just wondering if I would be better eating something to soak up the water? It's starting to come out clear now sorry way tmi it's been going on for so long.

Can you speak to your local pharmacy, provider or 111?

8 days is a long time for ongoing diarrhea. You could try electrolytes to rehydrate yourself, might make you feel better. I'm no expert, but I might tentatively try a little very bland food - plain toast, bananas, white rice/chicken, boiled potatoes and see if you can tolerate it and if it slows down your stomach emptying. Nothing fatty or dairy.

Please try to speak to someone professional too for advice, especially with the pain. It could be an infection, stomach bug or even pancreatitis (rare).
