Contradictory info re storage time for mounjaro

Hi hopefully I've misunderstood something but just want confirmation. The ily lilly website states 21 days out of the fridge whereas most of the prescribers sites say 30 days. It's not an issue really unless you are taking 5 doses from a pen. I'm also wondering why the prescribers say to keep it at room temp whereas the Eli Lilly website says to keep refrigerated. I'm going to contact my prescriber but wondered if anyone else had come across this.

My understanding is: The 30 days is the overall maximum once the pen has been opened, even if it's in the fridge the whole time. So there's some days grace in case you're late on a couple of doses or something.

The 21 days is how long the pen can be safe unrefrigerated, whether it's been started or not (which is effectively how long you would need to go from first to last dose, hence why it needs to be refrigerated until you receive it in case you can't fridge it)

I refrigerate because I can and why not.

That makes sense. I'm going to start keeping my pen in the fridge too I think.

21 days refers to US single use pens which have different preservatives. Make sure you are looking at uk kwikpen pens when looking online.

or refer to leaflets in box which have the correct information.

I guess lot of people have used the pen for a 5th and 6th dose, which goes beyond the 30 days. I've not read of any issues - I wonder if they're kept refrigerated in that case.

5th dose is within 30 days - days 0,7,14,21,28

6th dose would be day 35. 5 days over.
