MedExpress have reduced my dose - confused!

I have been on Mounjaro with MedExpress since August 24. Still on 12.5mg dose and BMI is now 23.5. Tried to order another 12.5 pen and they have emailed to say I need to now just take 5mg and im in maintainance.

I wanted to titrate down anyway but planned to do it gradually. 12.5, 10, 7.5 etc Has anyone else had this?

The pens have been life changing for me so I’m feeling stressed this morning!

Try Pharmulous. Seeing good reviews about their service and maintenance.

To reassure you the people in the placebo arm of the SURMOUNT trial effectively went cold turkey from high doses so it's not like there's a medical reason you need to taper down. Some mj will stay in your system for up to 30 days.

Of course I appreciate you may want to reintroduce eating more and less satiety slower so I hope you can find a provider.

Medexpress aren’t great with supporting low BMI and maintenance. Switch to another supplier that does - I think Cloud gets good reviews, and Oushk?

Different situation: my provider made me start from the bottom again because I didn't order one month ( ha been using the golden doses) I have almost no suppression at all on 5 and have been thoughtlessly eating a lot. Be prepared and have lots of healthy food in.

My take on the SURMOUNT trial is it proved the opposite. Coming off cold turkey a substantial number regained weight. Continuing medical treatment/injections at the appropriate level for each individual will be necessary for many to maintain. Medexpress cutting down from 12.5mg to 5mg without discussion on maintenance for that individual is very poor support.

Firstly I agree Medexpress`s treatment of the OP was poor . I also agree that slow tapering may help some.

You've misunderstood what I said though. I am strictly talking about there being no reported side effects that mean people must taper off Mj slowly as they may need to with some medications.

One of several reasons why I would never ever use ME.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/04/2025 14:21

I too would never use ME! What an arbitrary decision at an arbitrary bmi!!

I second the pp re trying Pharmulous. Excellent service and the Medical Director (Mel) is on MJ too so understands the process better than many!

Oushk have several maintenance plans and carry out maintenance consultations. Thoroughly recommend. ME limit is 23 bmi which is why they have done that. Oushk will go lower.
