Struggling with the saggy skin 🙁

I know, I was expecting it and I've been working on making peace with my body throughout this journey, but my face, chin and neck have started to really sag and I feel like I look older. 🙁

Is the only answer surgery?

Edited to add also I do look after my skin, it's in good condition. SPF and cleanse and moisturise daily.

I have started taking a collagen powder which is meant to help!

there are loads online to choose from, I’ve just started the nutrition geeks one - only been on it a week so can’t do a review but many people say it helps!

I am getting older so take every type of collagen going and am looking at hyaluronic supplements too! I love the ordinary rose hip oil overnight too.

I do think though that the majority of how your skin behaves is genetic so it could all be pointless! 😂

Just had some fillers for the same reason, very happy with the result. Have also heard good things about ultrasound lifting.

AlexandraJJ · 15/04/2025 21:56

I had ultrasound a few years ago and it was the most painful experience of my life. The results for me weren’t worth the pain in any way at all. If you’re looking at this pls research carefully

Collagen is so expensive for it to not work though. Anyone used it and actually seen a difference?

There's no good quality evidence for collagen working. It's the same as eating more protein, given that it's digested and broken down. If you like using the collagen supplements as a way to get extra protein, then why not, but you could just increase the amount of protein in your diet.

Sagging skin is down to genetics and age unfortunately.

Tried collagen, had fillers.. which must have been good as the kids (20 something girls - so hyper savvy) and they just said ‘mum you look really good.. new foundation ? ‘ 😂.. but ultimately there is nothing for 30kg weight loss. Except surgery . Currently recovering from tummy tuck and having my acti rectus muscles back together.. having been rend asunder during last pregnancy 2 decades ago. Am beyond thrilled with the results. Now I can actually wear clothes the size I am rather than 3 x bigger to fit my loose skin .

How old are you?

A lot of it is genetic but at 39 you have a good chance that it will improve with time as long as you lose slowly and maintain the losses. Dry body brushing can help. I’m three years older than you and I think mine is slowly improving at the tops of my thighs and on my stomach.
