On first 2.5mg pen. So far taken 2 doses. Very strong effect, was wondering if anyone started less than this? Perhaps bit late now I’ve started but would like to stay as low a dose as able and increase slowly.

My body felt like it had been hit by a freight train within about 14 hours of my first dose of 2.5mg! Here’s me thinking it was a low starting dose and so many posters on here raving about benefits with little SEs I never even thought and went for the first injection without hesitation.

However!! After about 3 days of it gradually ramping up in my body I nearly sacked it off. Alright the suppression I experienced was amazing and I wouldn’t want to eat any less but the side effects were almost more than I could cope with and I had to take time off work:

swollen glands
a severe ache in my shoulders, neck, back and clavicle
Insomnia
Feeling like I have flu
fatigue and weakness

Spoke to Numan about it and the best they had was “these are not listed on the indications” on that interaction alone I cancelled my subscription as the posters on here were more help! On that point I discovered the notion of going down a dose and received some excellent insights into microdosing etc.

So I firstly watched all of Dr Kevin Joseph’s YouTube which is really helpful and informative and I normally hate YouTube videos like that. I then downloaded Shotsy off App Store. It plots a graph of dosage half life. I worked out there was a sweet spot of blood volume of Mounjaro after the unbearable symptoms died down and the suppression remained and it was around 1mg. So microdosed 2x 0.5mg across 4 days. I then went up to 1.25mg and eradicated all SEs.

Search microdosing on here as well.

Hope this helps. I’ve given such a detailed reply as without the help of others on here I think I would’ve binned the Mounjaro after the first dose!

2.5 mg is too high for some. You know your body. We are not all the same, and we do not all react to medication in the same way. I tend to get side-effects with any medication. So I was very cautious, similar to the previous poster, at the beginning and split the dose into smaller quantities. I had no intention of being so sick that I couldn’t function the first few days or weeks, it just wasn’t going to happen - I couldn’t take that risk because of all the responsibilities I have in my life. Note: Some prescribers on the Internet believes that the pharmaceutical company will eventually amend their starter dose as they believe it’s too high (for some).

Thanks. Really interesting. Will read more around microdosing. Especially not wanting to go straight to 5 as prescribers suggest.

I’ve just started a thread after pretty awful side effects on my first 2.5 jab. It’s really encouraging reading here about taking a smaller dose as that’s something I’d like to try. I don’t even care if it’s placebo, the effects in the first couple of days were amazing.
