Starting April 2025. Mounjaro Journey! ❤️

Raffles134 · 08/04/2025 15:14

I have just started my Mounjaro journey and decided to blog it here so I can look back and see how far I’ve come (hopefully!) and to help anyone thinking about starting.

I have spent all of my adult life trying every diet going, losing 3-4 stone and always regaining. Finding it harder & harder to lose weight as I got older and having to eat less & less to try and lose any weight at all.
Each time I would regain it all and some more.
Every summer I would dread trying to get into shorts or even worse a swimsuit.
And yet I found it so hard to get the willpower to change my eating habits for good.
I love to socialise and for me that always involves eating & drinking!
I couldn’t just meet for a coffee, it always had to be a breakfast or lunch involved!
I would wake up and my thoughts would very quickly turn to food and what I was going to eat.
Snacking every day between meals.
Treats in front of the TV.
Going to the cinema was all about the sweets I could take in.
I tried to limit drinking to weekends, but the weekends began to start earlier on a Thursday sometimes a Wednesday!

So I finally decided to give weight loss injections a try!
Several friends have used them successfully and I decided the expense was worth it as it’s probably less than I spent on takeaways and junk food anyway!

I decided to go with Medexpress.

Medexpress were recommended to me by friends and were a good price with no subscription.

I ordered and was approved straight away after submitting a few more photos to prove my weight. The pen was dispatched the next day!
So they have been great for me so far and I would totally recommend them.

So here is my Journey!

My starting stats:
BMI 33.5
Weight 15st 10lbs
Height 5’8

Would like to lose 4 stone.

Currently on Week 1 (Will update as I progress)

Friday 4th April 2025.
First dose 8am

I found the injection easy and completely pain free!
I had been very stressed about that 😆

Slight headache & feeling cold on day 1.

I have been lucky to have had suppressed appetite and all food noise stopped within a couple of hours of injecting.
I had planned to eat healthily anyway as I was really worried about getting unwanted side effects from making bad choices but I actually only want healthy food which has been great!

I have had no other side effects, and I don’t know if this is luck or down food choice & portions.

Sometimes I can finish a meal and sometimes not.

An example of a days food so far is:

A smoothie with fruit, water, spinach, seed mix. green superfood powder.

A slice of rye bread with 2 scrambled eggs made with cottage cheese, spinach, cherry tomatoes.
Sometimes I add avocado.

Salad with mixed leaves, butternut squash, walnuts.

Or

Sweet potato with cottage cheese and salad.

Day 5 & Current Weight 15st 1lb
(9lb loss! 😬)

I will update as I progress and add photos!

Things I have learnt so far!

Don’t be scared of the injection - it doesn’t hurt and I am the biggest wimp 🤣

It takes ages to turn the dial to get to number 1

You can count the clicks as you turn the dial. 60 is one dose.

If you move up to a 5mg pen - 30 clicks would be a 2.5mg dose. 45 clicks would be a 3.75mg dose & 60 clicks would be the full 5mg dose.

So if you don’t want to move from 2.5 straight to 5 you can do it gradually.

I will also be trying to extract the 5th “Bonus” dose and will update with how this goes!

So far it has been the best thing I have ever done! The freedom from not constantly thinking of food has been incredible.
I know how to eat healthily and what is good for me but usually do not have the willpower to do so and the craving for sugar, carbs & junk food wins.
But without cravings and appetite I am freely able to choose how to fuel & nourish my body.

So good luck to anyone starting this journey!

And if you decide to go with Medexpress
please DM me for a discount code which will give you £40 off your first order!

It will also help me by giving me £40 off my next order for which I would be forever grateful as it would help me to continue my journey. As we all know it is not cheap. But absolutely worth it!

💕 Thank you if you’ve read this far & good luck 💕

Please feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

Good luck with this. There is a thread already for April starters if you'd like to join us? Most just 1-2 weeks in or about to start. There's also a thread somewhere for sharing codes but not sure where.

@RhaenysRocks
Thank you! 🥰
I am on the April starters thread and have been fairly active on it. It’s a great space with so much support! I just didn’t want to add such long (and probably boring 🤣) updates on it!
Keeping it more conversational & brief updates on there.
This is more for me to post so I can look back on it and keep a record of my journey.
If anyone wants to read it or finds it useful then that’s a bonus! 😆
Good luck with your journey & see you in the April starters thread! xx
