I am going with Voy but I have a question

When they inform your GP, as I assume they must, do they include details of your current weight? I'm not in England so I don't have an nhs app that lets me see letters. The only way to find out is to apply to see full medical records.

It's no big deal, I just like to know what is being said. I'm overdue a smear test and the surgery wouldn't let me book my smear until I go in and get weighed and have a health check first. I have not yet done this.

I didn't go with Voy but just checked the letters sent to my GP and none mention weight - my details as in name, dob etc, then just the dosage, date prescribed,
mention of side effects, how to store etc

Have you checked on monj.co.uk , there are lots of providers that might be cheaper.

also remember voy is a subscription model and will automatically send you your next higher dose each 4 weeks. If you want to stick on a lower dose for longer you need to actively tell them. This catches some out with subscription models.

many people are happy with voy, just checking you’ve seen the other options

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 06/04/2025 07:43

I started out with Voy last year (since moved on!) and they gave you the option of opting out of contacting your gp. Not sure if this is still the case though.

No letters I have had from any pharmacy show my weight.

On another note, I bloody hate it when gp surgeries hold you to ransom like this over accessing important tests!

I'm with Voy and I just checked my NHS app and doesn't appear they've sent anything yet! If you want a Voy discount code, send me a PM.
i really like the Voy service, they provide coaching (via video, phone calls or messaging - your choice) and I really like their meal analysis. No focus on calorie counting, just on how to eat a balanced plate. You upload photos of your meals and they give you feedback on how balanced it is and how you could improve it.

Many thanks for replying. Sorry I was working away all week so only just caught up.

I did not know that about Voy. I thought they were just like other suppliers. I'm quite disorganised so having it sent automatically sounds good but I've read various recommendations to stick at lower doses as long as possible.

MJ how long have you been with Voy?

I haven't started yet.

I started in January with them - 11kg down so far. They do send automatically but you can change the date and dosage of your next pen up until about 2/3 days before it's sent. I've gone up the dosages so far but have delayed pens easily (only because they tend to send out after you've used half of your pen and I prefer to wait until basically right about when it is needed so I can take longer to decide dosage.

I’m with Voy - they didn’t tell my GP. I’m on month 5 - you can adjust your dose. The customer service has been very good.

D1919 · 12/09/2025 21:26

If you sign up to the three month subscription with Voy ( pay for the first three dosages) but then decide to stay on the lowest dosage beyond the first pen do you get refunded the difference?

Gingercar · 12/09/2025 22:17

I did three months with Voy and really liked them. You can adjust the dose or cancel the subscription very easily. I loved the balanced plate system. Found the coach a little pointless really, but thought the AI coach (Joy) so useful. It will instantly find you recipes, shopping lists, exercises, help motivate you - whatever you need. I haven’t downloaded the nhs app, so don’t know if they told my DRs anything. I only left because they’re so expensive.
