Can I take a higher dose than my MJ pen allows?

Not sure that thread title makes sense but…

I ordered my fourth pen a couple of weeks ago and decided to stick on 5mg as I had good weight loss and suppression but now I’ve taken my last dose of third pen I’m feeling like I’ve stalled a bit. Appetite has defo increased and weight has plateaued.

How would I go about taking a higher dose from a 5mg pen? Inject twice? Or should I just accept the plateau and go up next month? Not sure how the clicks work!

Could I decrease the interval between doses perhaps?

I have the odd week where suppression wanes a bit and extra will power is needed, then kicks back in. Since you have your 5mg pen anyway I would revisit the basics for the next week or two - track calories to make sure you are eating to deficit, protein with every meal to feel fuller, plenty of water so you don’t mistake thirst for hunger, reduced carbs/sugar/sweeteners to prevent sugar spikes/hunger from crashes etc and see if effects return on 5mg. Works for me and I am 40 weeks in still on 3.75mg dose.

You can’t do more than the dose of the pen in one injection. The pen doesn’t go beyond the 1 position that 60 clicks will turn you to. So to do more than 5mg with your 5mg pen you would need to do two injections. You should change needles between injections. A half dose would be 30 clicks and give you 2.5mg, if you wanted to do a total of 7.5mg.

The other option is to buy separate syringes and manually extract the medication via the red seal. You can then inject the dose that you want, if you are happy to work out the volume and dosage yourself so that you know what you are injecting. A normal dose would be 0.6ml, so to do 7.5mg from a 5mg pen you would need 0.6ml + 0.3ml for 0.9ml in total.
