Ethnicity and weight loss injections

Lostfirsttimebuyer · 03/04/2025 13:04

I have a BMI of 28 and my ethnicity is black. I understand that the BMI requirements for my ethnicity is lower than the usual 30 and is 27, so I would be eligible for weight loss injections. However I am finding that some of the websites I look at don't seem to have an option to prescribe for lower ethnicity and only do it for weight-related health conditions.
Does anyone know which providers will take ethnicity into account to prescribe at a BMI of 27-30? I know that Superdrug asks your ethnicity so I am wondering if perhaps they might, but I thought I might just ask on here first. Thank you!

I’ve been asked about ethnicity by both Asda and Zava. I think it’s pretty standard as I’ve seen it on many of the website that I’ve investigated to see what their ordering process is like.

I’ve been asked by Pharmacy2U.
I thought it was part of the standard questionnaire.

I am pretty sure I have seen it in the consultations/questionnaires, but if not there is usually an "anything else you wish to tell us" type box if you want to add a note, or email the pharmacy you plan to use if it is on their form to check. I would assume all the pharmacies are well aware of this.

Have a look at Pharmulous as they definitely have the information on their site.
