2.5 brill, 5mg slowed down, will 7.5 speed it back up?

Slowly working through the strengths, increasing from 5 to 7.5 today when it arrives. Started in January.

2.5mg I lost a stone in the month but then moving to 5 I lost barely 5lbs all through the 4 weeks

so I’m hoping 7.5 kicks off well. Im 10lbs away from ideal weight to maintain but I’m now wondering if it’ll slow even more. I’m defining upping my gym activity though to help with the weight loss.

Has anyone experienced this?

5mg gets a bad reputation as weightloss can slow down while your body gets used to / adjusts to the significant weightloss on 2.5mg. This is why it is sensible to not take what is on the scales as your only indicator. Are you staying in a healthy calorie deficit? Are your measurements changing?

If you are still in a healthy calorie deficit, the risk is 7.5mg will take you into an unhealthy one.

This is exactly my experience. 1 stone off the first month but on 5mg only 3lbs over the whole month! Starting 7.5mg today a little disappointed but there are so many positives other than weight loss, I'm not feeling too demotivated.... 3 inches off my waist, binge eating under control along with the acid reflux it was causing, clothes I haven't worn for a while are now fitting comfortably. And I can see a subtle change in my relationship with food. I am more relaxed eating out because I'm starting to trust that it won't trigger bingeing and I seem to be gravitating naturally to more healthy food choices and sensible portions. I will also trial this month walking at least 10,000 steps daily and some weight training to see if that makes a difference.

I'm literally in the same boat op. I started in Jan, lost over a stone on 2.5 then it stopped working so moved to 5mg, got very sick, went back to 2.5mg and moved up in increments to 5mg but I've only lost a couple of pounds. I took 6mg tonight and next week I'll take 7, then 7.5 the following week to avoid the awful side effects I got moving up to 5 and I'm so hopeful that 7.5 will be my dose! Everyone else seems to have much quicker losses.

Similar here though I didn't even lose much on 2.5

I haven't lost anything in 3 weeks on 5mg

I haven't quite decided but I think I will go up to 7.5

I think partly I haven't been as strict diet wise this month but I do also think I may just need a higher dose

Fact you’re 10lbs away from goal is going to make it harder , the last few lbs of any ‘ diet ‘ is always tough .
the more the have to lose , the quicker it comes off .
ive been a slow loser , and the final stone ( 6 months in, 2.5 stone off ) is coming off approx a lb a week , some weeks no change , but as long as I’m not gaining im sticking with it

5lbs in a month for someone close to goal is likely a very good rate of loss.

Weight loss of between 0.5%-1% per week is normal/healthy. Personally I'd stop chasing the extreme and see the slower rate of the loss as the better option (because it is, imo).
