I was hoping for massive results and have struggled with the thief that is compassion as I started with 2 friends who've lost way more BUT I'm trusting the process and celebrating a stone off.

My non scale victory:
I put a jacket on today that hasn't fit for a long time and it zipped up!

What's yours?

Getting up every morning without the fear of what I’m going to wear/what fits. Truly liberating.

That sounds amazing - I dream of that day!

I’m at a spa and just had a back massage. For the first time could like comfortably on my stomach with my hands by my sides. Before my boobs were always too big.

I don't know if this can be classed as a victory as it has it's negatives but I've gone down a shoe size!

Shoes and bags were something I'd allow myself to buy as I thought if I lost weight it's not something that wouldn't fit me any longer! I now am looking to buy all my shoes again in a size down!

A work colleague saying she could see I had lost weight and that I looked amazing. I don’t think anyone’s ever said that to me before in my whole life.

SevernWonders · 29/03/2025 16:16

Being able to buy clothes in non-plus size shops.

Not worrying about the lap belt fitting on a plane.

Being able to walk without getting out of breath.

Walking up stairs without puffing.

No longer being the fat friend.

My mum encouraging me to eat food! She's never ever done that! Offering me snacks, desserts... It feels so surreal. Previously she would tell me how important it was to eat better or ask if I should really be eating that etc.

It feels like such a pressure has been removed from me **

I had 5 people tell me I looked good, could tell I had lost a lot of weight, big difference all on Thursday! I did wear a fitted dress

Walking 8000 steps in one journey and realising how effortless it was and I didn't get breathless or hot from the walking.

ViolaPlains · 29/03/2025 18:12

I can tuck my tops in, I can buy “normal” clothes, I was on a packed tram and didn’t feel mortified when I had to squeeze my way out, and I had a run-in with some kids in the street and asked them not to spray paint a wall and all the abuse I got was “I’ll spray your goggles!” and there was no fat-calling, which I’m sure there would have been before.

That’s a good point, I’ve walked a lot more with less effort and the stairs aren’t as tiring.

I put on a pair of trousers which were snug and now are loose and I’ve had to do up my bra on the tighter hooks.

Stepping up into a black cab without having to grab onto the handle above the door to haul my arse in with the associated fear of falling backwards.

Walking down steps like a proper human rather than clinging onto the handrail and doing one step at a time.

Finding some size 16 knickers at the bottom of my drawer and they fit.

No guilt in eating anything in proper portion sizes and stopping when I am full even if there's food left on the plate.

No sweaty creases --and vinegar tits- , being able to cut my toenails and.............................TMI...................

being able to wipe my bum without a special tool.Grin

I’m no longer constantly thinking about how fat I am, and what people think of me. And daydreaming and wishing I could be a normal weight.

wite · 30/03/2025 17:52

Going on holiday and not fixating on the all inclusive food. Just having delicious salads and stopping eating when I’d had enough. Very liberating

This old thread isn’t Mounjaro related, but makes for happy reading anyway!
