What are the companies waiting for? Is there a change coming?

What change are you expecting?

I don't know. That's why I'm asking.

Normally the prices are constantly moving and companies are competing against one another.

The thing that normally stops this is companies expecting a change in something, like supply, regulations ect.

Wondered if anyone knew

They’re still doing discounts and incentives- I see them all the time. Not sure why you’re turning it into a big conspiracy. Why would they be changing their base prices all the time?

Conspiracy?

It's how business works 😂

There are still offers and incentives but no movement or changes on those for a few months.

Well I meant as in your speculation that there was a change coming. What sort of change and why would that mean that the companies wouldn’t compete in the meantime (which they are still doing through their discounts)?

Wholesale price, reduced access to new stock, change in legislation. I don't know! It why I'm asking

It's probably more a case of prices previously being quite dynamic in a very new market where the various companies are working out their positioning, and now that's settled down, the prices have stabilised. So for example, it's now clearer to them that there will be people who shop around every month and are more price than time sensitive (happy to go through reregistration to switch supplier), whereas there will be other people who will pay a premium for not having to do that and things like having more reliable, named day delivery, and some people want to be able to collect/ value a "known brand" such as Boots. While they're all providing the same thing, there will be small differences that mean they can charge different prices.

It's going to make it harder to "pharmacy bounce" for the best price 🙁. I've already been a new customer at the consistently cheapest.

Had to accept a measly feeling £20 return customer offer with IQ doctor today.

can I ask when you are moving suppliers what kind of prices are you paying - I am with curate and have stuck withy them as every month they send you a new discount code - £130 is about the highest I am prepared to pay!

With pharmacy hopping I've been keeping costs down between £99 and £110 per month.

But that’s why I’m saying conspiracy theory because you’re trying to read random things into the fact that pharmacies aren’t offering the same discounts as you think they did in the past. Could it not just be because the guidelines have already been tightened about prescribing meaning fewer people will bounce around between suppliers? That’s a change that has already happened and a positive one in my opinion. Personally I keep seeing loads of offers so I’m not even sure what it is you’re noticing. If it was something major coming up then I’d expect pharmacies to keep trying to compete up until the date they aren’t allowed to.

Finallydoingit24 · 24/03/2025 12:31

It’s probably also because you’ve already exhausted the best deals so you’re running out of suppliers where you’d be a new customer.

Just looked on their website and prices look the same (perhaps they haven't updated yet), where did you see the increase?

On monj.co.uk. I usually buy the 5mg at 149, it's now listed as 155.99 on monj.co.uk. all other doses appear to have increased as well. Perhaps monj.co.uk are wrong?

WeAllHaveWings · 26/03/2025 07:33

@Burnserns think they have just included the P&P in with the total price on the Monj site now. It might have been in a different column before.

Burnserns · 26/03/2025 08:20

Ah! Okay that makes sense. Thank you for letting me know.
