Am I silly to start today??

So I’ve been waiting all week and mounjaro 2.5mg finally arrived.

I know this is going to sound silly but I have a long awaited hair appt tomorrow with extensions going in so it’s a few hours - am I silly to do injection today incase of bad side effects. I’ve never taken a dose yet so not sure if I should wait or try it anyway?

You’ll probably be okay but tbh I’d wait until after the appointment now. Just take it when you get home just in case you get any sure effects

I don't know where this idea has come from that it is likely that you get terrible side effects immediately on taking your first injection. I only got gastric side effects when I went up to 5mg, and in the second week of that, coinciding with some probably dodgy food that I ate. It was also manageable and not long lasting.

What's more important to consider is what day would you like to do the injection on regularly - would Thursdays suit in general, or would you prefer to do it on the weekend, or whenever. I inject on a Friday morning, then I tend to get the most appetite suppression over the weekend which I prefer.

If you're really concerned about side effects then do the injection after the hair appointment and then you won't need to think about it at all.

Same here op but not an appointment to go to I’m working all day. Turned up yesterday.
was going to do it last night but have a long day today so thought against it after reading about side effects.
im going to do it tonight when I finish as tomorrows a shorter day then I’m off all weekend which is when I normally pig out so hopefully it will suppress me for the weekend

It’s definitely the social media claims you read about side effects some people have made it seem quite extreme even in first few weeks. Though I do know it might not be - I’m so excited to start so would love to just try but then again nothing worse than being in an appointment all day if not well.

in wondering if there’s any connection to extreme nausea etc in pregnancy and similar in these medications but will wait and see how I react.

ready for this new lifestyle to begin! Thanks xx

It usually takes 2-3 days for full effect to kick in but just in case you are a super reactor, wait until after it. I've only had 2 days of side effects in over 5 months and that was based on eating red processed meat, other than that no problems other than cold and tired, which was how I felt before mj lol

I had extreme nausea in my pregnancies and I've not had any nausea on MJ, or unpleasant side effects. It's just worked without any issues and I'm sure I'm not the only one either.
