Can anyone recommend collagen supplements/creans?

Really keen to avoid saggy skin if possible. I'm conscious that I'm 47 and my skin maybe won't spring back like it did 10 years ago after pregnancy. I was lucky to get no stretch marks with either pregnancy despite my bump being HUGE.

I use the hideously expensive ancient and brave supplement in my morning coffee.
To be fair it does add a shot of protein to my diet first thing.
I don't think there's much evidence for collagen creams.
There is evidence attached to LED masks.
I've also had PRP and skin boosters over the course of my weight loss.

I'm also using Ancient and Brave collagen powder, but too early to say whether it's helping (only taking it a week). Trying to decipher which form of collagen to take and how (pill, cream, powder?) is a minefield - there's so many - in the end went off recommendations on here and google reviews, plus I liked the company ethos.

I've also started daily body moisturising, which i never really bothered with before, in the hope that keeping my skin hydrated might help somewhat??

I've always been careful with my face and moisturise day and night with a good quality cream. Ive used retinol serum (boots brand) for the past couple of years, but not religiously, so I'm ensuring I use that more regularly from now on.

I've also started exercising more - gym and walking. I started the gym a few months ago, but I now focus more on strength and maintaining/building muscle.

I've read quite a few posts (here and reddit) from people who are goal weight, saying that they wished they'd concentrated on preserving muscle from the start, so I've taken that on board.

For context, I'm 40 and 2 weeks in on mj.

Have you used LED masks @GrimDamnFanjo? I'd be interested to know more about people's experience with these, as I don't know much about them.

I have been taking collagen powder for months, since the beginning of my weight loss - mixture of Vital Proteins and Hunter and Gatherer - I alternate between Bovine and Marine each day.

Does it work? Who knows 🤷‍♀️, yes I have saggy skin, but I am 56 and have lost 6st so far, so to be expected and I have no way of knowing if it would have been worse if I hadn't taken collagen. My skin is better, but that could be better diet, vitamins and/or drinking more water too.

I have recently started using a collagen cream (just the Olay one), and it does help my crepey neck I get more in the morning when I am dehydrated overnight. But probably any hydrating cream would do that. Without any cream my crepey neck was already much better by late morning when I am more hydrated.

I looked briefly at the led masks and they seem interesting, but my problem areas are mainly my jowls and neck and they don't seem to target those areas.

I’m another one using Ancient and Brave in my tea in the morning and have been for ages. No idea whether it has helped my skin but DS told me I look more ‘glowy’ these days which I am taking as a win and a friend said I looked so well she has bought some too!

Also going to admit to having started on Nutrition Geeks’ Glow Up bovine collagen as well🤦🏼‍♀️ (A&B is their marine one) in the hope it may help my knees.

@Edensnapz yes! I treated myself to the v2 currentbody.
Does it work? Well the research says it should!
I've lost over 6 stones so I'm not sure whether how I look has been improved as I had so much natural padding! Who knows whether I'd look the same or worse?
I did take collagen from the start and I haven't suffered from hair loss as I have done before on diets.
I also think my neck is holding up fairly well.
I have really invested in my face - and shopping on Vinted! - to give me something to focus on. I've been losing weight for almost a year now.

You can buy ones which focus on the neck area now. I think currentbody do one.

@WeAllHaveWings I do agree with hydration for the neck area. I really notice if I don't do this every day!

I'm going to have a look at the v2 now 👀!

Interesting to hear you haven't had hair loss with this diet, but did in previous, this is my fear and why i looked into collagen, fingers crossed it helps me too.
