Is it possible to get MJ or ozempic privately if you have T2 diabetes? Or will the pharmacies not prescribe?

Or does it depend if you are medicated?

I have just managed to get it from MedExpress, having been rejected by Superdrug and Asda. I'm T2 and on metformin and did declare this on my applications.

Both me and DH are T2 and on MJ. The Diabetic nurse wanted to prescribe it for us both but currently an NHS stop on it due to cost in our area.
Had no problem being authorized on line

My diabetic nurse can't prescribe it on the nhs until I have tried at least 2 different diabetes medicines, unsuccessfully. Metformin counts as one, but I need to be on at least one more for a few months until she can prescribe it. Despite us both agreeing that the injections will be the most effective for me. Hence why i have resorted to private via MedExpress.

You can now get private prescriptions for WLI air you are T2 diabetic , I am have been doing so since feb, when I first looked into it in august 2024 I couldn’t get a private prescription anywhere so clearly the criteria has changed since then. I also take metformin
