Changing from wegovy to mounjaro

I stopped wegovy 6 weeks ago due to it not giving me the suppression it once did. I started mounjaro this morning. Has anyone else done this? What differences have you noticed?

I haven’t used wegovy so don’t understand the doses but with MJ I notice pretty good suppression on a new dose - at first it lasts most of the week but on the 4th dose I notice that I’m hungrier than I had been earlier on in the week and that’s how I know I’m ready to move up to the next strength. I’ve stayed on the same strength for just 2 pens, the 7.5, as suppression was strong.
I aim to feel suppressed enough to look forward to my meals and not want snacks inbetween, anything more than that is too much suppression for me. I do only eat 2 meals a day though, lunch and dinner.

I started on 2.5mg weekly and the appetite suppression was immediate. Good weight loss too. By week 3, however, supression had worn off and weight loss slowed right down. Last Monday, (week 5), I started 5mg and have had virtually no suppression despite double the dose. I've been wondering if I actually did the injection wrong but guess I can't have! Anyway second week of 5mg starts tomorrow so we'll see. I have continued to slowly drop a few pounds but for me, regular dieting and upping exercise achieves the same and I've been doing that anyway, so what exactly Mounjaro is now adding to that I'm unable to tell at this stage. Apparently my supplier is keeping users on 5mg for at least 2 pens, so that could mean another 7 weeks of no suppression which would be an expensive disappointment!

I had lost 36 pounds with wegovy then I just stopped losing ☹️ I'd read better things with moujaro so I'm hoping it helps get me back on track. Injected yesterday so fingers crossed. 🤞 I've not heard of how long I'm on each dose tho. Which supplier are you with?

SheMed. It's a UK company and they're doing a year long medical trial that people could sign up to in December and January only. I get billed monthly. It's much cheaper than other suppliers - £99pm ($128) for ALL sizes of dose - but you had to commit to the year's trial. They call the shots re pen dosage size and check my progress (weight loss, side effects etc) every week on the day I'm due to next inject. The problem with online suppliers in general is that naturally, the price increases substantially as the mg dose increases, hence the attraction of the SheMed trial, but I don't have any choice over when I might get sent the higher doses

Oh can you please update me in how you get on?
I'm on the highest dose of Wegovy but zero effects now. I have lost 4 stones but really need to shift at least another stone so was thinking of changing.

Well done on the weight loss thus far. It sounds like your body has started to 'tolerate'' the medication though, which can happen.

SheMed wouldn't allow anyone onto their trial who had already had similar treatment but more importantly, access to the clinical trial was only during December 2024 and January 2025. Anyone who started getting their supplies through SheMed after the end of January 2025 is paying their full prices which start at £159 for 2.5mg and cost more as dosage increases. You're welcome to contact them but you won't get onto the trial. Their website is www.shemed.co.uk

I'd like to change but frightened to stop taking the wegovy as it's definitely getting tougher to keep the weight off.

Thankyou for this advice.
I know i wouldn't qualify for the trial and am happy to pay as it's all been so beneficial to me.
