Are there tips you wish you'd known in advance? Reassurance you would have benefited from hearing? Did something surprise you that you weren't expecting?

@TheMorels thanks! It took me from early May 2024 and I was about 10 stone in November 2024. It's taken the past 4 months to chip away at a further 7 lbs.

Think I'm about done now so im on a maintenance dose and titrating down

How are you getting on?

I’m also chipping away at the last bit. I started at 188lbs (13st 6) in August. I’m now 140 lbs (10 stone) and hoping to lose the last 7lbs before my holiday in 2.5 weeks. The weight fell off at first, but it’s very slow now.

I’m a smidge over 5’8, so I’m already a good weight for my height, but I’d love to be a bit slimmer.

How long have you been in it, qmd how long does it take to lose a stone?

Not sure if you are asking anyone in particular so I will answer anyway Grin

Been on it 9 months and lost over 6 stone - 18 stone to 11 stone 12.

A friend at work got pregnant at a similar time so we have been on an opposite trajectory (although she hasn't put on anywhere near 6 stone but it is funny to see how we have both changed shape in the same timeframe).

I would tell past me that it will end decades of self loathing and feeling out of control around food.

I wish I’d started it a year ago when a private health professional recommended but I was scared to try as don’t really ‘do’ medication at all so it felt alien to me.

I wish I hadn’t been so scared of side effects that I kept putting it off.

Honestly I've had 1 day feeling nauseous since 7 Jan and that was going up to 5mg.
Oh sorry and a couple of middle of the night wake up with reflux.

I’d have started it sooner. Last summer probably, but I wish it had existed in the 1990s!

I would advise against telling people who are likely to be negative. You don’t have to tell anyone at all if you don’t want to.

Thank you for starting this thread @PippaSews, so helpful

Start sooner and take measurements before starting.

When I initially looked at WLI in 2002/23 there were stock shortages of Ozempic & Wegovvy and pharmacies were often not onboarding new patients.
Fast forward to June/July 24 when I looked at them again when MJ was available.
I must have dithered for 6 weeks when I finally started in early August.

Never trust a fart.

Haha wouldn't have thought of this myself, but after that first two weeks of starting, this is the best advice on here.
