Hypoglycemia and microdosing Mounjaro

Hi

I took one dose of the 2.5mg mounjaro pen 2 weeks ago just before bed; unfortunately had an hypoglycemic episode and ended up in A&E. That day I stupidly hadn’t eaten enough carbs.

Over the next few days I had a couple of other milder episodes which I was able to manage by eating some sweets and also I was very strict on eating enough complex carbs. Overall I managed to eat within my macros, the food noises were finally gone, I felt my mood improved and I was able to focus more at work and get stuff done.

I am wondering if anyone has got any experience of reducing even further the 2.5mg dose and willing to share their experience please?

I spoke with the GP and they just said to not take anymore, which I understand but honestly the food noises and stomach pangs I get everyday are horrible.

for context I eat within my macros and super clean/healthy. I also exercise and follow a gym plan but it is makes me so miserable and I struggle with binge eating.

The week of MJ I felt like I was back in control over my life. I just want to constant food noises to not be so strong.

Yes I microdose and have had good results for the past six weeks (I weigh in tomorrow but as of last week it was 18.5 pounds). I started with half a 2.5 mg dose, 30 clicks. I now take 40 clicks.

However you should listen to medical professionals as what you experienced sounds dangerous and you don’t want a repeat of it.

Sorry to hear about your experience, it's so scary when it happens. I had a similar experience my first night of mounjaro and had a bad hypoglycaemic episode (didn't end up in hospital luckily).

Because of those side effects I then ended up micro dosing on 1.25mg for a while. Personally had great results even though they are slower than other people on here. (25lb down since October). I'll be honest, I was trying to eat quite clean and healthy, and so did have more hypos on shot nights. But since eating more sugar during the day, and not being quite so healthy (I eat dark chocolate, fruit, sugar in my tea and biscuits in moderation) the hypo episodes have completely gone and I feel a lot better for it.

I've been working my way up slowly, and I've only just started taking the 2.5mg dose this last week, after 4 months of titrating up from 1.25mg

Thank you both for sharing your experiences.

Sorry to hear you had some hypo episodes too glad yoi found a way to manage them.

I am not too worried about loosing weight quickly or too much of it, honestly the main benefit for me is stopping the food noises and help with the binge eating and overall mood enhancement.

I am not going to order another one of course but with the one I have left I wonder whether it is worth it trying even less than half a dose to see if it works. Can I do so with the brand pen or do I need to get some syringes?
