I lost a 15lb in mindless month so stayed in 2.5 and only lost 4lb

Still ok but should I have gone up to 5mg?

I've stayed on 2.5mg for two months but it's doing nothing now and weight loss has completely stalled ! I only stayed on 2.5mg as still been having episodes of diarrhoea and gastric irritation. I've ordered a 5mg pen for when my current one runs out. I might gradually titrate to 3.75mg from the 5mg pen.

About 10kg since the second weeks of Jan. Sorry now sure what that is in pounds. But lost virtually nothing in the past two weeks and appetite has not been suppressed.

2.5mg 5 weeks. 3.75mg 30 weeks. Total loss 5st 11lbs

The last 3 weeks I have only lost 2lb, but there has been things going on that explain it (couple of big celebrations, HRT being messed about with) , I have never had a gain in 30 weeks, so sticking with 3.75mg for now.

I don't aim for "mindless" loss, I fully expect to be mindful of what I am doing, but Mounjaro makes it so much easier to do, whether that is be in calorie deficit to lose or at TDEE to maintain. When that consistently gets too hard to do for several weeks I'll up my dose.

I’ve been on 2.5mg for 10 months / 8 pens and I’ve lost 5st, been maintaining for the past 4 months. After a whoosh of weight loss in the first month I averaged 2-3lb a week until I reached goal. I combined with a low carb diet.

fatgirlswims · 01/03/2025 13:23

@WeAllHaveWings can I ask you dosing schedule please for 3.75 out of 5mg pen?

I did 12 weeks on 2.5mg, 5 weeks on 3.75mg and currently on my 10th week of 5mg. So basically I'm doing three pens on each dose apart from the in between month I did on 3.75mg (which is 45 clicks of a 5mg pen, to answer your above question!).

I've lost over 50lbs and it's been steady. Some weeks higher than others (I think the most in a single week was 4lbs). The only week I gained was Christmas but that was 1lb only and in previous years without mounjaro that could easily have been 5lbs!

I haven't felt the need to move up doses just vex I can. I've had the plan in my head from the start to move up slowly because I'm conscious that I've got a long way to go still (I would like to lose another 100lbs) and don't want to get to 15mg and find the effect tails off and I have nowhere to go from there.

That said, I'm doing it sensibly for me - I am not chasing total suppression and I'm trying to make better choices propped up by mounjaro. I've made my peace with the idea of being on this long term but I also want to retrain my brain along the way so there is the possibility of being medication free at some point!
