Switching from Saxenda to Mounjaro

I'm on Saxenda 1.8 and pen is about to run out and I don't have another. I'm not too pleased with the appetite suppression. It's not holding like it once did. I want to switch to Mounjaro and wondering if I can go straight onto the second pen dose as I'm already used to Saxenda and the 1.8...

Money is tight and I don't want to waste it on a pen that's too weak for me because I've been using Saxenda.

Mounjaro has a dual action mechanism where Saxenda does not, so you may find you react differently to it than to the Saxenda. I would think that prescribers would likely want you to start with the 2.5mg dose of Mounjaro to see how you manage with the dual action mechanism.

I did this - and started right from the beginning - I'd say that that's the right thing to do, I found the experiences quite different.

Saxenda I lost 5% of body weight in 5 months, I did feel sick occasionally.

Mounjaro I've lost 15% in 5 months (slowly scaling up each month), and all I have is reflux if I do manage to overeat, and constipation if I forget to drink.

@MxFlibble thanks that's what I needed to know, I'll go with the starting dose

@SilenceInside thanks for the info I think I will start from the beginning just to be safe. It might be too weak but the alternative of being too strong and then unwell puts me off
