Injected myself this morning at 10am but found the instructions quite confusing. Anyway had a small breakfast at 9am, just been for lunch at the pub with a friend and now home fancy a pudding.

I feel no different and clearly eating the same. Now I'm not sure I even took it properly ...any help to see if its gone in please MNers

PS not sure when its supposed to kick in but my impression was it was quick?

Yes I think that's what it looks like after one does. You won't feel suppression that quickly though! Some people don't get much at all on 2.5mg so you need to manage your expectations- it's a marathon not a sprint.

Dollydaydream100 · 23/02/2025 15:54

*dose

SilenceInside · 23/02/2025 15:54

Yes you have. The grey plunger in the vial has moved along to the first marker on the glass vial. That means that one injection has been administered. Assuming you put the needle into your skin when you pressed the plunger, then yes you've got the medication in your system.

It's not quick acting. It takes between 8 to 72 hours for the medication to reach peak levels in your body. Some people find that the 2.5mg dose doesn't give them much of an effect and need higher doses.

That photo looks about right for after one dose. I found that it takes about 24 - 36 hours for the first dose to kick in.

Whew ok thanks. I will adjust my expectations!
I only need to lose a couple of stone and I did well on Fast 800 a few years ago- didn't feel hungry at all, I just need help getting the motivation again.
I shall remain hopeful.

Teh first few months doses hardly affected me at all. I could eat pretty much normally and definitely fancied rubbish. I'm on the second to highest dose now and I've still only lost 30lb. The only big difference for me is feeling full quicker and feeling absolutely shit if I over eat or eat too much crap.

It's not a miracle drug for all of us.

Iamthemoom · 23/02/2025 16:51

I had good appetite suppression on 2.5 after about 24 hours. I've upped my dose gradually over 5 months and only gone up when I felt suppression was reducing. Friend has stuck at 2.5 for months and lost loads. Everyone is different but it does take a couple of days for a dose to kick in.

Picture of pen after each dose (hopefully added)!

I was ( am ) a slow loser , been on almost 6 months now and almost 2 stone down , still 2 to lose .
I only felt proper suppression at 7.5 , I ate less but definitely could have eaten normally until that point without any ill effects .
Currently on 10mg and rarely feel hungry .

Same ! I've been on since September , currently on 10 and only in last few weeks have actually felt suppression .
Never lost more than about 2lb a week either

witte · 23/02/2025 17:40

Some people don't really find it works until a couple of months in when the dose increases.

If you've only got a couple of stone to lose it still might take a while. It's not always a quick fix.

AndThereSheGoes · 23/02/2025 19:07

That's interesting.
Is there any research or anecdotal theories into what makes it more or less successful?

It's just dosing. You need to titrate up until you get to a therapeutic dose. You can't start too high as it'll potentially make you ill.

Mysticmaiden · 23/02/2025 21:25

Takes 2-3 days after I jab to fully kick in, Ido feel some effects after 36hrs but I've been on it 4.5 months and built levels up in my body

I'm lucky if I get that!

It's a bit depressing when you're shelling out so much money for it, too.
