I’m starting on Thursday after work - as off Friday. I’m too scared to start through the week incase I have obvious side effects. I’ve also had it in fridge for a couple of weeks as scared to start.
im not scared of needles but scared off the faff and getting it wrong!!

How did you get on today??, xx

user1471560734 · 09/02/2025 21:21

To Hullaballoo
It was fine , the most difficult part was ensuring the pen was on the right setting before injection. Very fine needle so hardly pain . Top tip : Drink plenty of water if you feel slightly nauseous it passes.
Good luck for Thursday 😊

Hey how are you getting on with it?

user1471560734 · 15/02/2025 23:25

Hiya Hullabaloo 😊
Apart from feeling really cold 🥶 the first day it was fine .Didn’t feel hungry and definitely not snacking which was my downfall.
I get weighed tomorrow morning (Sunday) and my second jab .
Will post an update.
Hope I will lost some weight or I will feel disappointed.
The effects of the jab wear off as the week goes on.!

Hi, can I join you both!
I did my first jab on Friday, built in up in my head so much and it was so easy!

No side effects yet but my appetite suppressed almost instantly - I had breakfast today and then had to remind myself at tea time that I'd not eaten all day and had a salad. BTW this is not normal behaviour for me, I'm always thinking about food normally!!

Broxigirl · 16/02/2025 07:03

Hi all! Took my first jab on Friday morning also. Have a low level headache and a bit of nausea which comes in waves but other than that not been too bad.

I'm currently 15 stone (95kg), and looking to lose at least 4 stone.

FaithFables · 16/02/2025 18:51

Hey, I took my first dose yesterday. Currently 14 stone and wanting to lose 5 stone, I'd be happy with a 4 stone loss. 🤞🏻 no side effects yet!

Misslola1999 · 16/02/2025 18:55

@FaithFables wow same!! Started 14st 1 on Friday with my first jab, I'm only 5ft 2 and don't carry it well 😂 would love 5st but would be over the moon with 4st too!

I'm 5ft 2 as well! 😃Would love to get down to 9 stone, but I'd be happy at 10.

Misslola1999 · 16/02/2025 18:59

@FaithFables here's hoping 🤞 I've had no side effects yet and amazed at how instantly the urge to just eat went away!
Here's to our journeys!

I started on 7th Feb after delaying due to fear. Its been fine for me so far. Still get hungry and cravings, but no where near as bad. Get full after eating quicker and fullness lasts longer. Basically its taken the edge off. Lost a few pounds in a week. Hopefully this steady progress continues.

Poshjock · 16/02/2025 19:35

I’m in same boat as you guys. I’ve had the my in my fridge for 3 weeks, partly procrastinating and partly planning to avoid a training course and 8 days in a hotel. Was intending to start on Wednesday but DH sprung a surprise valentines dinner on me so delayed until Saturday.

start weight 91kg.

hoping to get down to 70kg so around 3 stone.

user1471560734 · 16/02/2025 22:19

Is anybody using anything to track their calories? Or mainly protein?
Any recommendations?
Like I said the other day I just don't feel hungry and this is the first day I'm eating dinner as I've just not felt like eating anything throughout the day.
Thought tracking what I eat might be better who knows, as I want to build healthy habits too!

SharpLily · 19/02/2025 20:04

I've been prescribed Rybelsus (Ozempic) oral tablets for diabetes, starting on 3mg. I took the first one today and am pretty puzzled and horrified by how my day has gone because it's made me ravenous and desperately craving sugary treats.

Sweet cravings have largely disappeard for me since being put on Elvanse for ADHD so to feel them massively return today, along with serious, painful hunger was pretty distressing. I know it's only the first day and it takes time to settle down so I'll keep going but must admit I'm concerned about tomorrow. Dreading it actually as the hunger was so fierce today, really unpleasant. No nausea or anything other side effects. Did anyone else get this kind of paradoxical response at first?

LuckyLilacFinch · 24/02/2025 14:00

Hi All!
Started Mounjaro on 9th Feb.
SW: 13.6
today: 12.11
Target: 10.5
I have had quite a lot of nausea and eggy burps, but my appetite is definitely suppressed - I actually find it quite difficult to eat enough.
If I don't fancy a big meal then I have a slimfast shake to ensure that I am getting correct nutrients etc.
I also eat a lot of nuts to keep my protein intake up.
I really don't want to lose too much weight too fast - 3lb a week would be the max. I have lost a lot initially but am hoping that will steady as further along the journey.

LuckyLilacFinch · 24/02/2025 14:01

I am also keeping a food diary this week to ensure my fluid intake is sufficient was well!

Hi all, I’m new here. Reading all your stories and experiences is so reassuring- I hope you don’t mind me jumping on your thread.
Just received my blood test from SheMed. Planning to do my onboarding call tomorrow. Could someone please let me know what to expect from that call. I’m super nervous. I have scales to weigh myself but there’s been no mention of height verification- do I need to run out and buy a tape measure? lol
