Med Express delivery delay (Royal Mails fault not medexpress)

I am sure this has been asked before but I can't find the thread.

Medexpress dispatched my 5mg pen at 8.52am on Friday 31st Jan.

Royal Mail tracking said it was due to be delivered Sunday. They actually delivered it today to a neighbour at 1pm who have just brought it over (almost 6pm).

The packaging is wet in the corners. All the inside packing is wet and the ice packs are fully defrosted.

I presume this is a problem? If I drop Medexpress an email will they replace my pen? (I need it by Friday)

My provider says pens are ok in the insulation packaging for 72hrs/3 days from dispatch, if Med Express are similar (I haven't used them before) you might have a fight on your hands.

It is possible they did not dispatch at 08:52am, that might be the time the label was printed, when does your tracking say RM picked up your parcel from them? If later than 1pm delivery to your NDN might be within 3 days.

Stick it in the fridge and query with them. They might negotiate you will use that pen for the injections possible within the 30 days (3 out of 4?) and you get a credit for the doses you cannot use. So be prepared to tell them when your first injection will be and how many you will get from the pen before your 30 days are up.

Ah I never thought of it like today starts the 30 day clock ticking. I thought the whole pen would be wasted. I'll see what they say tomorrow. I should be OK either way though as I was planning on day 1 being Friday because that's when I need it for. But if day 1 is today ill still get 4 doses in before the end of the 30 days (I don't do the bonus dose). Thanks for the response.

Oh and it just says Friday 31 January 8.52 sender dispatched the item then Saturday 1st Feb 16.50 item received London Central mail centre

They won't replace it they will tell you it's good for 30 days after it's out the fridge and expect you to use it straight away. I got caught this way as I always order a while before I need a pen and they were absolutely no help at all. I changed pharmacy after that.

They can’t just expect you to use the pen straight away. They do always try to say it will be fine because it’s with the 30 day period etc. Don’t let them fob you off though!

I actually refused a delivery that was soaking wet , same scenario , first attempt was Saturday then arrived Monday, they replaced it and then i got a result as the original order was delivered on the Thursday so basically a freebie . I read as long as it doesn't go above 30 degrees it's fine & let's face it we are in winter so I'm prepared to try it , the ice packs were still cold btw and had only melted slightly .
