Mounjaro and sore throat/neck. Thyroid cancer?

I have taken 3 doses of 2.5mg and it’s going great but the last 4 days i developed a bit of a sore throat. It feels like a bit when you start getting sore throat but the day before you can just feel your neck a bit sore.
Its not becoming an actual sore throat just lingers around.
Is it possible for 3 weeks of mounjaro to cause this or am i just panicking as i read the side affects about thyroid cancer?

You're just panicking. It's winter and there are a million cold and other viruses swirling round. Plus there's no pain with thyroid cancer (your thyroid and throat are two completely different structures).

The chances of it being the start of a cold are much, much, much higher than it being cancer.

Thyroid cancer is very slow growing, you’d not get it in 3 weeks,

you are most definitely panicking it would not come on that quick! If anything I think we may potentially see this a lot further down the line, due to the wide scale use and potential side effect. My mum had had thyroid cancer twice she had a very noticeable lump in her neck, I’ve just had a tumour removed preventively as believed to be benign I had a very visible lump on the side of my neck. I’d also be questioning if this is the right thing to be on if it is causing you anxiety like this

You are panicking . Have you have reflux ?? This can be caused by MJ and would present as a sore throat? If not - it’s a bug

yes that is possible@olympicsrock thanks. Always suffered with heartburn type of thing but not much discomfort in stomach which is different from before mounjaro

Again, your neck and your throat are not the same. If you feel unable to control your anxiety it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about it.

I had exactly those symptoms for about five days, and then on the fifth day I lost my voice entirely and have now been battling a nasty virus for the last two weeks. It developed into an awful cough that kept me awake night after night. Today is the first time I've felt normal since. It's (just) a virus.

Give me strength. Get a grip.

How are you now? I have this EXACT same thing and Google is scaring me or not telling me anything. It's just sore all the time (throat) it actually feels worse and more noticeable in the evening (not sure why). I take painkillers and have numbing spray etc but it's just not going. I had flu and then a chest infection in quick succession just before and after Xmas. Then started MJ 2.5 and a week later I got this raw and sore throat. I really dont want to come off the medication but this doesn't seem to be going anywhere or changing like it would if it was a cold. Help.

I started Mounjaro in October and got a sore throat pretty much immediately, then lost my voice completely. I still have it to a lesser degree - I have had it checked - scope etc.
I started taking omeprizole at night and it seems to be helping. I think I was getting reflux at night with the Mounjaro, frying my vocal cords.

I get the 'lump in your throat' sensation, and for me it's how reflux manifests. Try taking some Gaviscon (or similar) next time it happens, and see if it reduces or goes away.

Thanks everyone yes i have a feeling its to do with reflux of some form. As i said its never actually turned into a sore throat but more of a sore neck kind of sensation. i stopped worrying about it after posting here and its not got any worse so just put it down to reflux.
@Lorelai7 hope yours gets better or can put your mind at ease somehow. The fact that lots of people are saying it’s to do with reflux, is reassuring X
