I think it would be fair to say nearly every single person who lost weight in the first month also went on a diet. Yes some had high suppression, others varying amounts, but nearly all effectively dieted, eating clean, and in a calorie deficit.
There is also a certain placebo effect in the first weeks , as we are all so determined to make it work, if you rely on the drug to do the heavy lifting for you in the first weeks the chance of failure is high,
if you use it correctly, then as you move up the doses the drug really kicks in, 5mg is a shock to most people’s systems, and we need that first month to even prepare us for that.
im currently on 10, which is the dose I intend to stay on, and suppression is quite high, however I ensure I eat my calories and enough protein, if I look back to 3 months ago, the feeling on 2.5 is nothing like it is now, which makes me wonder if there was a placebo effect going on. I beleived it to be working, I wanted it to work, so it did.
you need to decide if you’re in the right head space for this. I note you say you “started in that direction” rather than you’re currently fully on that road. Which could mean you’re relying on the drug immediately. The drug is having an effect. But the real effect is when you move up.
