What type of people do these work best for

Clumsy title but is there any evidence of who wli work best for?

For example people like me who have always been overweight or people who have put on weight but used to be a healthy weight.

In my highly unscientific head, those obese from childhood seem to be those where obesity is a metabolic disorder whereas those who have been healthy weights then gained are likely to be more driven by lifestyle factors but their bodies do 'know' how to be healthy weights. Given what wlis actually do, does this be group therefore have more success because of their intrinsic biology?

There is literally no point to this btw other than I can't sleep and I'm curious. Being obese sucks balls (medical definition apparently) regardless of the why and the how so this is just a chemistry question that I can't find the answer to when I google.

The drug is basically a peptide we create ourselves, it doesn’t differentiate by people’s history or mental health , it simply acts ;ike any other drug . It’s like asking who does blood pressure meds work better on.

if you’re asking who can come off and maintain, then that’s also about the individual , their determination and how they feel or have retrained their eating habits, if they can’t, they can stay on for life, assuming they can afford, at a low maintained dose.

It works best on those people who are gannets ie graze and eat because of a need for dopamine or no willpower or habitual overeater.

I would agree with this.

It works on mindless eating, the physical cravings, the food addiction, anyone who gets a high from food.

There's lots of anecdotal evidence that is works in a similar way on other additions including shopping, gambling, smoking, drinking etc. so it's not just physical cravings is any mental craving too. It's pretty incredible.

Makes you think that some people are just wired with more vulnerability in the addiction areas or a lack of the hormones that these drugs regulate. If weight is mainly determined by genetics.

I've been overweight since about 9 years old, mostly obese and am now 40. Never been massively obese though, the most I've weighed is 14.5 stone.

I'm near the end of my 3rd pen and it's only working very gradually for me. Lost a bit over half a stone in 3.5 months.

Hasn't stopped the food noise at all, I feel a bit more full after meals in the first few days after the injection.

Interesting thanks.

I am highly curious to see how this pans out for me (took my first dose yesterday). I am a mindless eater - a crappy carb craver, a picker.

Appreciate the responses

Op I was the same, mindless snacker but also big portions, I would say many of us have this issue, hence why we ended up obese. Not all, before anyone jumps.

im 14 weeks in and 36 pounds down. No food noise. And I only had mild nausea when I started 5mg, now on ten, and feel fantastic.

i will stay on a low dose once I hit target. As I know myself well enough to know that the weight will come back on, maybe not in the first month or even year, but slowly I will eat and drink more, as time moves on. So for me a low maintenance dose , which I can up if I start to regain, will be the answer.
