Blood Tests after starting Weight Loss Injections

Has anybody needed to have blood tests (for a non weight loss issue) since starting weight loss injections?

If you were accessing the injections through a private prescription did you inform the person taking blood? (If you haven’t already informed your GP).

Thanks.

Yes, as part of a BP medication review. I didn't mention it to the person taking the bloods, and my GP had not yet been informed at that point.

Mentioned it at my annual BP review/blood check to make sure the providers letters to inform them were updated on my record (they weren't). A month later when speaking to Dr about HRT I mentioned it again as we were discussing my weight in relation to HRT, and the nurse hadn't added it either, so hopefully it is on there now, but not convinced.

The only comments the nurse or Dr made was to make sure I as getting it from a reputable source, otherwise they showed no interest in it as the short appointments were for something else and they simply don't have time to deal with anything other than the reason for the appointment.

Mounjaro is unlikely to show up on a routine blood test unless specifically tested for, but for your own health it is unwise to withhold information that you are taking a prescription only medication that could alter the blood test results from the person who needs to interpret them.

To be clear, it wasn't a deliberate omission, it just did not occur to me to mention it at all, and the nurse didn't ask me about anything like that when doing the test. I was concentrating on not fainting as I am needle phobic, so that was taking up 100% of my mental energy.

By the time the actual review of medication happened, my GP had been informed and the pharmacist was aware I was taking Mounjaro. The pharmacist did not mention anything about it in relation to the blood test. I presume they would have told me if I had invalidated the results of the test by not thinking to mention it.

I didn’t tell the nurse, but spoke to my doctor before I went on them, the blood tests were a month or so later, and when I saw the doc, she updated the system as it hadn’t been logged. The results were all improved.
